I would like to see the NYC Niagara Legacy  with passenger cars or freight release at one time  = Like the NYC ESE package which seemed to sell well.

Maybe another KCS Southern Belle to compliment the one I just purchased.

Maybe the ESE 21 inch cars that came in the package for those that went all in on other items.

Saw a nice article in Trains magazine that features the new Rocky Mountaineer paint scheme.

For obvious reasons , I'd buy an entire locomotive/passenger offering in a heartbeat.  MTH did this train (in the earlier paint scheme) quite a few years ago, but I'd love to see Atlas-O or GGD take this project on with the more modern paint scheme using their scale-length equipment.  GGD already has the tooling for high-level, scale-length aluminum passenger cars... but then we're talking big bucks!  Atlas-O has a more comfortable price-point with their Zephyr cars (ABS), but no high-level car tooling yet.  Lionel has high-level passenger car tooling from their 18" aluminum series.  But with their aluminum series now drawing to a close, Lionel will also need to re-tool their 21" ABS line of product to include high-level passenger cars (i.e., in this case, dining cars and/or full-dome lounge cars).

Whichever importer chooses to take on the project, it would be one cool passenger train!!!    What do you think???  Of course, scenery not included.

Now that the CATS PAJAMAS there!!!!  I'd be in for that.  That is one awesome train.

I love double-decker cars from all eras & I would buy these Rocky Mountaineer cars if they were offered. I could be wrong but my Golden Gate Depot double-decker cars were models of the Budd Santa-Fe Hi-Level cars (15.5’ tall), while the much newer double-decker on the Rocky Mountaineer were manufactured by the now-bankrupt Colorado Railcar (18’ tall). These Colorado Railcars, with their unique panoramic roof windows & rear veranda / balcony were unlike any other double-decker cars used on Amtrak or on the railroads in the Northeast corridor. The only other cars that look similar to them appear to be the ones used to ferry the cruise-ship passengers in Alaska like a couple of the Alaska Railroad & Holland America Cruise Line cars.

Also since Sunset / Golden Gate Depot appears to focus on scale models of obsolete pre-1950 trains, as much as I would like to see some importer offer these newer models, I don’t think it would be Golden Gate Depot.

These are just my opinion,

Thanks,

Naveen Rajan

I am wondering if the items we saw at York will be in the catalog or will that be Catalog V2 for 2016. I am thinking about the fan fare around the GG1 and I am hoping that the sales results of the new ESE we can get a 4 pack of cars. I was going to pull the trigger on the 2 car set and the station diner car to run behind the new stream line engine - but if it doesn't happen I can always use my CCII 7 car set - will have to convert them to LED.

Also would like to see a new Niagara.

Pretty sure we'll see the Vision Line GG1 featured in Volume 1.  York was the preview teaser for that, but I've already gotten over it with my recent MTH find.    There's been a rumored Vision Line steamer to be offered as well, but whether THAT is in Volume 1 or Volume 2 is anyone's guess.

In any event, I'm guessing all the expensive stuff will be delivered in late 2016 or perhaps even during 2017.  Not sure if the market can absorb all that much for the next several months anyway.  Even right now, dealers seem to have plenty of ESE sets, locomotives and two-packs to sell.  Best price I've seen for the ESE set was $1525 on eBay by Pete Costa, a dealer in the Philly suburbs.  At that price, the listing didn't last too long!  Pete often has some nice stuff at the Allentown shows too.

I doubt it, I don't we'll see another Vision steam for at least another year...

May not be DELIVERED for another year, but over on the "other" forum they're talking about Vision Line "steam" in the 2016 catalog.  Of course, it's all speculation until next Wednesday.

I agree with Marty on these three.  I would add I'd like the sensor equipped cars to be steam era and O scale sized.

I'd have to watch the Legacy Users Meeting again but if I remember correctly the sensor car would be 1st offered in a 6464 boxcar and a scale boxcar.  The idea was you could swap the shells to get the road name you want.  Like I said it was a while ago so I may be remembering it wrong.

I would like to see stationsound diner cars for The Blue Comet, The Southern Crescent, and The Alton.  Lionel made the beautiful sets a few years ago, but forgot to make the stationsound diner cars for them (with green tinted windows).

For some reason, they did make stationsound diner cars for other passenger sets, but for whatever reason, the above was not made.

If they miss this time around, please make the cars above..its been several years already!

I've recently become intrigued with the MRL paint scheme, and it seems there are others here who are also interested in this "fringe" railroad.  I can't imagine there are more than maybe ten or twelve engines and cars total that have been manufactured out there in O gauge.  So it would be nice to see some new stuff in this scheme.

(I confess, although I like their deep blue color, I cannot make heads or tails out of their logo.  It doesn't seem to represent anything).

I'd still like Lionel to come out with a decent Legacy Amtrak diesel. Dash 8, Genesis, F40, anything... It wouldn't have to be some new super-detailed Vision Line offering, just something reliable and somewhat affordable ($450-550 range?), scale sized with Legacy Railsounds, etc. They have the tooling for the Dash 8 but haven't cataloged it in Amtrak livery since 2003-2004. Way overdue! But I have a feeling Lionel will make the Vision Line GG1 in Amtrak paint and then say "that's all" for this catalog...

I was just about to say an Amtrak engine. I'm hoping for a P42DC, with accurate HEP/no HEP sounds. I don't want a Dash 8, the tooling isn't very detailed and the engine is too long for a 4 axle locomotive IMO.

Maybe they'll start in the produce aisle?

A GG1 of some sort appears to be in the works... I think in green. ...

Absolutely.  Lionel previewed a Vision Line GG1 at last October's York with sparking pantographs. As I recall, there are 8 models to be offered, the most detailed of which is expected to be the non-welded, "Old Rivets" model in a Bicentennial paint scheme.  That had my interest until I found an MTH version (albeit w/welded body) for about 1/3 the price we're expecting of Lionel's VL GG1.  Unfortunately, Lionel didn't announce any pricing info with the preview, and indicated they were holding that off until the 2016 Volume 1 Catalog.

I just stumbled into this link where Charlie Ro has apparently been taking pre-orders for the Lionel VisionLine GG1's.  They may have announced this awhile ago, and I probably just forgot about it since pricing had yet to be announced.  Heck, Lionel's website doesn't even have preview images yet for the three riveted models being offered.     Just the 5 welded-body models.   Let's hope the catalog has all the images.

Judging by one of the catalog covers on the Lionel website, looks like we might be getting a LC+ 2035 remake. I did a double take when I saw it.

Almost looks like an Angela Trotta Thomas painting with the station in the background.

It does, it also has a blue tint I'm assuming to hide some of the detail. I'm almost positive that's a 2035 though, the trailing truck, firebox, and running gear are a dead giveaway. I'm actually have a 2035 that needs a smoke unit and headlight that I'm going to fix up in March, along with a 671, 1666, Northern Pacific Geep, and my first engine from the Pennsylvania flyer set.

No one has said 4449 in AFT colors and all the cars for 2799.99 or a Daylight scheme for 1299.99 so I guess I will call it. With Smoking Whistle, Dynamo and injector steam, and cylinder cocks steam.

I'm all in for that one!  I've been wanting that for a long time. I have both the K-line and MTH version already but would totally be on board for something with all those features!
