I'm currently working on tracking down some specific blueprints for a Baldwin locomotive. I found myself having to take notes on the whereabouts of different eras of drawings and whatnot.
Does anybody have any experience or knowledge they would like to contribute as far as where blueprints are for manufacturers?
Seems to me like Baldwin has archives at SMU, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commision, and The Smithsonian.

I've also gotten copies of erecting cards from the Sacramento Railroad Museum--they may have drawings too.
Hi Bill, You did not state which Baldwin and/or road name but have you checked out these publications?
Model Railroader Cyclopedia-Volume I "Steam Locomotives" Here they are listed by wheel arrangements.
And there are two large volumes of of steam logs "The Locomotive Cyclopedia" Vol I&II. Here lots are list by Road Names.

You might look at the N&W Historical Society page. They have documents from other roads brought into the fold, the Virginian among them. There are at least two diagrams of the locos, and one more technical arrangement drawing.
