I live in Maine but grew up many moons ago in Brooklyn and Long Island. Of course I have a couple of LIRR trains on my pike. We see producers offer LIRR equipment once in a while - here is one of my trains, some new and some old.

Nice consist. I see some familiar cars, including that new MTH Caboose. I just picked one up at Trainworld yesterday.

I grew up on the western tip of Long Island (aka, Brooklyn!!!). Other than Lionel and the NYC Subway, the only real trains I knew was the LIRR Cut which ran near the intersection of Flatbush and Nostrand Avenues (locally called the junction). As an ex-Pat living in PA for the last 28 years, I have a certain nostalgia for where I grew up, so I’ve been picking up various Long Island and Brooklyn items…
Trainworld, Nassau Hobbies, and NLOE have become serious bad influences!!! And that doesn’t cover the NJ HiRailers and their NY/Brooklyn offerings

Not at all! Even as a kid from Da Bronx, I unnerstand you guys poifectly!
I'm with Jim. Thoity years in Da Bronx then 30 on the Island. But Paul it's the other waze around, you Brooklyn guys never want to admit that King, and Queens counties are on Long Island, same as Nassau and Suffolk.
I grew up on Long Island but left for college. I returned for a few years after graduating but have lived in New England for more than 50 years and became a fan of the New Haven Railroad. Nonetheless, I collect and run Long Island Rail Road model trains. My favorite is LIRR G-5s #21 by MTH Premier which is always on my layout. It reminds me of LIRR #35 that I used to see when flying model airplanes in Salisbury (now Eisenhower) Park in the 1950s.

I always wanted one of those Tomcat TOFCs but have never found one on the secondary market for a reasonable price.
Bob I always like when you post this Duck Growers Assn. stock car. I don't recall seeing another.
Paul, I'm a fan of the RK 4 bay cylindrical map hoppers. I've 2-3. I don't recall this one. Is it a RK or is it a Premier?

I also like the MAP hoppers, Joe - have a few of them. I’m pretty sure this is a RK (30-75707). They also made another one with the ‘64-‘65 World’s Fair logo instead of Dashing Dan (30-75533).

Grew up in Mineola near the Oyster Bay branch, and have lived on the south shore in Nassau County for thirty years. As some of you may know, I only model and run LIRR. #35 is the pride of my fleet. I picked up the C-Liner in Goodfellow gray a few months ago from Trainland. Below are a few of my favorites:
Mineola? Near Polly-O? I spent the first two years of my career with the County DPW in the Executive Building, 1 West Street. South Shore? I lived in Massapequa for 30 years. Babylon branch made trips to Penn Sta. and Atlantic Terminal easy.

@coach joe- The Duck Growers car was from the Railroad Museum of LI in Riverhead.
I was lucky enough to pick up a Grumman Tomcat TOFC a few years ago.
And my K-line Greenport Scoot set was in mint condition when I got it. The previous owner added passengers. I've since added 2 more cars.
And my RS-1 IN GREEN.... was the last custom run done by Mike's MTH for Trainworld.
Finally, when I needed a track cleaning car, I took an All-nations car up a couple notches.....

Coach Joe, I lived about half a mile away from 1 West St. between Mineola Blvd and Willis Ave.
