Hi Marty could you post your schematic for the 3 volt upgrade kit again... I have the one from MTH but it's getting a little difficult for me to read... Yours has the pins numbered.
I had it printed out but can't find it. I though I was through doing up grades but 1 more to go..... . I;m just about done but have ditch lights, maybe markers, and cab light to go plus a new sound file. .

I have the head and back up light hooked up...(leds) Ditch lights (leds), couplers,and need help with the cab-lights... What pins do you guys use for cab lights. Are they on the 12 or 8 pin plug in....
What voltage are the markers? I might use fibre optics instead for the markers or do nothing.
What soft key is normally used for cab lights? I don't have a sound file yet, this is a transplant and still has the RS-3 file.
PS I'll be glad when I;m finished when (if) everything works.

Interior light is on the 12 pin. 8 pin is ditch, markers, Mars and Beacons. Markers are series LED fed around 5-6V PWM. There is a current limiting resistor on the PS-2 board. G
Guys, here it is. On the volume pot, switch wire 12-12 and 12-11.
from after one of my first conversions, this read out of Marty's has helped speed things up for me. I just didn't think of doing it and traced every wire on the chart.

Absolutely thank you Marty & George.... Man! I've spent about 5 or 6 hours on this thing (transplant) already and not finished just yet. It'll go faster today with the schematic. .

Marty, for some reason with Firefox I get this when I click on your graphic.
John, I just right clicked on the image and chose copy image.
Then pasted it into MS Paint. You can stretch it in paint
I did a "save link as" in Firefox and it worked. I also found out why it's screwing up.
The file name of the thumbnail is: PS2 3V Board - Copy.tif.jpg
Notice anything wrong with that name? It's trying to treat the linked image as a JPG, instead of the less common TIF file. Apparently, the image processing in Firefox got confused with the appended jpg on the thumbnail name.

Done... Just one comment... Version 5.. I downloaded a sound file and it went well.... 100 % and shortly after the engine starts up and runs fine, I was hoping for a cab light soft -key but it's not there. Did a factory reset and the soft-key shows up. I believe we always had to do a factory reset after a download but some versions of the loader did it for you near the engine of the process. I guess not version 5... Anyway everything is working, (for now

One more question.... I have my ditch lights set to auto... When you blow the horn they flash back and forth.... That's good.... however much to my delight the new sound file has the SXS whistle crossing soft-key .... The ditch lights do nothing at all ? It that the way it's suppose to work?

Yes, that's correct.
The ditch lights not working for crossing horns certainly is an oddity, one has to wonder why that was done? Certainly the prototypical use would be for them to flash, they certainly do on all the real trains I see when they're coming to a crossing and blowing the horn! That seems like an MTH oversight rather than the intended operation.
