Too bad MTH has never fixed their streamlined observation tool to produce a domed version. Would have purchased a Train of Tomorrow and the previous C&O Turbine with Chessie cars, but not without the feature Domed Obs car. Looks like St Jude Children's Hospital will get a bigger donation this year.

Honestly, I'm a bit concerned. There were a lot of new paint schemes, some of them quite intriguing, obscure, and/or returning for the first time in a while. However, as with the last catalog, I noticed that MTH is increasingly recataloging locomotives from the previous catalog, not only the specific model (witness the GP40, which has been in 3 successive catalogs with paint changes) but even recatalogging specific paint schemes such as the B&O 4-6-2 Pacifics. Also, there were two whole pages devoted to a hodgepodge of previous catalogs' models. This suggests to me that MTH might have an overstock of these models that they're trying to get rid of. Or it could just be that they're doing a third(!) run of the USRA Pacifics. 

It's going to be very hard not to purchase the US Steel SW1500, and as I mentioned earlier, a number of paint schemes were intriguing (Studebaker, Chesapeake & Indiana, Rio Grande black PAs, Rock & Rail).

Is that a correct color ? I am aware of the Yellow, Red, Blue. and Black, did not know that the NS did an Orange. The colors represent the NS shop that did the rebuild, the Black is the manufacture's rebuild.

I think it's supposed to be yellow - honestly not sure.  I am still at work so I haven't looked that close

I do really like the RDG Alco 630.

The Premier C&O Chessie System modern 50' box car is a box car that I have to get in both road numbers to run in all the freight trains. 

The RailKing CANFOR plug door box car is a car that fits in with SOO LINE freight trains.

The Peavey Company PS-2CD high-sided 3-bay covered hoppers would look right in a 1960's to 1990's freight train.

The ILLINOIS TERMINAL PS-2CD 3-bay covered hoppers are interesting. I might get them.

The ECC America Funnel-Flow tank car is one that I have to get for the GTW and SOO LINE trains.

I've committed to Lionel's control systems foe locomotives but I might get some of the rolling stock down the line.

I just wonder why MTH hasn't tried to make the Amtrak ACS-64 yet, when they already have tooling for the European version that I would think they can convert. Hopefully the new paint schemes will help fund that in the near future.

As has been said numerous times, Siemens licensing terms are not on par with o scale production. 

I really like the Daylight Railking Cabforward but I am confused on its specs. In the catalog, it says O-42 curves as minimum curve radius. To my knowledge, these models have always been O-31 curves. When you click on the independent link to see more about the specific engine model (30-1823-1), the features tab shows that the model is O-31 curves as a minimum curve radius instead of O-42 as seen in the catalog. 

Is this a typo error on the catalog or did the railking cabforward models actually get bigger??

Pretty sure it will be O-31. I have a recent PS3 and an earlier PS2 models and both are O-31. I sold my PS1 version which was also O-31. I haven't seen anything in Railking that requires more than an O-31 curve.

You could always give the observation car to Allen Graziano and he can merge the dome on top! After all, the car is made of plastic!

That’s what i thought. I have my PS1 version that I have been happy with but I’m in love with that Daylight scheme and I was about to be real disappointed if I could not run it on my primarily O-31 curve layout! 😂
