MTH should paint a decapod up in Strasburg Livery #90. Along with a 4-8-0 N&W #475. Bet they would sell a lot.

The MTH decapod model is NOT the standard Baldwin 2-10-0 type that Strasburge has. The MTH model is a "Russian Decapod", which is quite a bit different.

Neither MTH nor Lionel has ever produced a scale 4-8-0. Only Sunset/3rd Rail has offered the N&W M Class 4-8-0 models, and did include the #475. And, you are correct in that those sold out quickly.
I would buy a #90 in a heartbeat.

Right. All it would take is for a manufacturer to produce a model of it, in 3-Rail.
You bet, if a passable 4-8-0 was produced I'd snatch one up - I've got a beautiful Strasburg consist and "nothing" to pull them with!!
I asked Mike directly at York about these and was told to keep on waiting!
I have wanted a scale #90, in it's original road's livery, for literally years..l like that N&W 4-8-0...thought it would be larger, but it's territory was far from what l model, so l reluctantly passed one up. (Guess both fall into the "different is good" category)
Several years ago I asked Mike Wolf about #90 as well. He said they were considering painting up the 2-10-0 Decapod in Strasburg. It's a shame they have those beautiful woodside coaches and nothing to pull them. HotWater is correct, they are different. I never realized how much until I put them side by side.
Have Fun!

Had a chance go get a 3rd Rail 475 a few years ago and passed. Been regretting it since.
I'm in for the Strasburg #90, I have eight of the nice Woodside coaches and I'm currently pulling them with a non-prototypical 4-4-0. Been waiting for someone to make the #90 ever since I got the cars.
What's surprising to me is, MTH keeps "missing the boat" with their VERY nice model of the Russian Decapod, but not offering in the Frisoc #1630 livery. The REAL Frisco #1630 operates pretty regularly at the Illinois Railway Museum, and has been photographed by tens of thousands of people over the many years that the #1630 has been there.
When manufacturer's keep "missing the boat", one wonders if it's a licensing issue that prevents them from making a specific model. It's an ugly world out there with all the lawyers running around, that may be why specific models and/or road names don't get produced.
John, I know where you can get a Mogul like the SRR operates, and it was just recently overhauled by an expert😁
I already have it, I must be out of my mind to consider letting it go! I also noticed I got the last Strasburg tender shell available, so that option may be out.
I just scored a set of the red SRR cars, and I also have the Philly & Reading observation MTH made last year, so when it all comes together, it should make a nice looking train.
We'll need a video.
Got the #89 from Lionel. Looks great with the wooden cars. One of the hardest to find train items i've looked for. have the tmcc CN Mogul as well.
Just did a full TMCC/smoke upgrade on the #89 Mogul, sadly it's not mine and I have to give it back.
John, you are welcome to come up to Maine and run it any time😃
You never know, if you hear a knock on the door...
