But I have never seen the light blue “Resistors”?? attached to the Brush Plate and Brushes.

They have a marking of +\-10% on each of the four of these pictured.

What are they??,what benefit do they do to the motors? Can I remove them,as I was going to put one of these in a Postwar Lionel#746,and they just don’t look postwar with those “Resistors”(for lack of a proper term).  

Again,what the heck are the electronic pieces? And what benefit do they provide the motors?,and what purpose do they serve??  

Either way,they run,but I have never seen these on Postwar type motors.  

I know one of the wizards on here know what they are,snd can tell me what good do they do?? Thanks,Kenny B

Those blue "bits" are actually capacitors. These motors are very likely LTI production motors as Postwar motors did not ever have them to my knowledge.

I'm not a electrical engineer, but I believe they were installed to cut down on electrical "noise" when operated with solid state electronics; in this case a solid state reversing unit. I'm sure Gunrunnerjohn can fill you in with all the accurate details once he sees this thread.

In a Postwar Berk, I'm sure you could remove them without harm.
