Hello fellows.  Finally settled in my new home (retired) in Colorado.  Basement finished and I have a 8 by 14 Mianne benchwork in storage ready to go.  There are some really smart folks on this forum. May I have some ideas on a track plan for my platform area. My goal is a small but highly detailed Hi Rail layout as I am an avid craftsman kit builder. Ross and GarGraves.  Thank you in advance for your responses.

Dr. have you thought about calling a professional designer and builder of "O" gauge layouts. You could tell them your ideas and they could work your ideas into their design. They would provide you with different drawings to choose from. Once you tell them which one you like, they will build it in their shop. Once they have everything built they will come to your home and install it. You will be running and enjoying your trains in no time.

Doc,

My suggestion would be to search this Forum for designs by some of our regular layout posters (Moonman, DoubleDaz, Ken O-Scale, etc. ) and see if anything catches your eye. In addition, I would download a layout design program such as SCARM or AnyRail and experiment with designing your own basic layout.

Once you have a basic design and can import it to the Forum, there are a lot of people here who can help you fine tune it to what you are looking for.
