I had an opportunity to run my two rail NYC K5 Pacific on the West Tennessee Central today.

Here are a few pictures.

Parked on an outbound track. I "leased" the K5 to the West Tennessee Central for service during the Southern Regional NMRA convention in Memphis starting June13th. Information about the convention can be found on the Memphis Transportation and Trolley Museum web site.

The NYC K5 was built by Phil with components he had left over from another project. I am not sure who built the engine next to my K5. It may possibly belong to Phil.

As so many have pointed out here on the forum the WTC is a work of O scale art and precession engineering. Sadly it’s days are numbered at in it’s present location. Hopefully the effort to move it to Central Station Memphis will work out. It will take lots of $$ and a dedicated team of craftsman to make it happen.

Thanks for looking at the pictures

Richard...I was going to email you but thought I would make this suggestion about the WTC here:  Have any of you all thought about getting in touch with one of the local museums...say the Pink Palace...and see if they are interested in preserving the WTC?  Perhaps a group of folks could donate to the Pink Palace a yearly amount that would make it worthwhile...??  Just a thought.

Bob,

I wish I could have met Mr. Ertz and had the opportunity to see the WTC in its prime. From the old pictures I have seen and articles in OGR, I can only imagine what it was like to have been there during an operation session. I also find myself staring at the empty shelves and wishing I could have seen the collection of engines, rolling stock and passenger trains.

Thanks for sharing your memories with us.

Richard

let me see what pix I have and will post later. Bob

Keep your fingers crossed, hopefully something will be work out.

Richard, you're probably right but you know it can never hurt to ask.
