Seriously though, will an O22 switch motor work in an O42 manual switch & vice versa?  The tops of the O42 & O22 turnouts are identical, both having the O22-2 part number.  It appears that the removable  “motor” section, be it manual or electrical, would fit either type of turnout.   All of my powered O22’s are screwed down to the layout & I didn’t want to pull one up just to confirm.

Thanks in advance.

Actually I wasn’t even thinking about auto non derail at the time I was writing this, but thank you for the info Jon... I’ll have to remember to remove the plastic pins from any I convert to manual.

I’m building a yard ladder using several left turnout O42’s & I’d like to remove a remote switch motor from a left & put a manual switch ‘motor’ from a right in its place- I have more rights than lefts right now & need a few more manual lefts to complete it.
