I think I can help. I just finished painting and decaling a MTH GP-38 as shown on some of their paper, in order to have a dummy to operate with a power unit Painted and Decaled by Jeff Shon. I have also Painted and Decaled 4- gondolas(older Atlas Gondolas) with sand loads plus one Caboose. The next R.J. Corman project was The Lexington Dinner Train. I used Milwaukee F-3's that were part of Lionel's Service Station Special by putting a Frank Timko can motor in each unit and by finding a power unit so I could have twin motors . I also installed a PS-2 up-grade in the F units. They were then painted and decaled for the Bardstown Dinner train. I painted and Decaled 3 Passenger cars for the Lexington Dinner Train. The Dinner Train decals were custom made by Stan Cedarleaf in Phoenix, AZ. All other Decals were furnished by Highball Graphics, P.O. Box 57, West Ossipee, NH 03800. PH(603)367-8637; Fax(603) 356-0118. They had "O" Scale Decals for the GP units, other decals were enlarged from HO decals they have in stock. This can become an expensive under taking. I has been fun and I enjoyed running the Sand train and Dinner train @ the R J CORMAN Christmas Party.

Thanks trains41,
I believe it can get expensive, I live in Clearfield where they have their largest branch line service, and would really like to get a couple of Locomotives and rolling stock made up. Its too bad no O scale manufacture has went to them to allow for production of their units. I find it interesting though that HO and N has some locomotives for them. I don't know what the story is there but hopefully one day they will make some in O.
Also could you tell me what color of paint you used?
Thanks,
Jarrod

These are only a few of the cars I plan to have the entire train will be roughly 25 cars when completed.
If you don't already have your decals for these hoppers you may want to give us a shot at making them for you .

I think for my SD40-2 units I'm going to try and air brush, this one is done by rattle cans, krylon fusion paints.

I really like your project. I have lived in Nicholasvile, K.Y. twice in the last 30 years (R.J. Corman's main office).

Very interesting. I love to see people obstinately and tenaciously getting the models
THEY want.
Looks good, NS1719. I see your engine has a white cab roof, but the in pic of the prototype it's red.
Just curious.
Larry
I believe you are headed in the right direction. Please keep us posted on the status of your project. In my opinion your red is fine and it is a plus when it is a common product. Your finished project will cause the slight difference in the paint color to be not noticed. Looks Great! Keep us posted.
Bill Crace(Trains41)
As I looked at their pictures they had a couple different paint schemes.

The F7 is interesting, is that isolated from active rail or is this just a parking space that's out in the open? I can't tell from your photo, nor this one:
The Google Earth view of their HQ shows the display track to be isolated.
In fact there are no tracks leading into the HQ campus, just a taxiway for an adjoining aircraft runway. Nearest railroad runs right past without so much as a siding.

What a great topic!!
i just sent MTH an email a few weeks ago asking about the possibility of RJ Corman in O gauge.
i lived and worked in Frankfort, KY for a little over 10 years, and loved seeing their trains!
On on a side note, Mr. Corman was a fantastic person, and a great supporter of the military. He let us land our helicopters on his airstrip numerous times, always personally came out to greet us, and bring snacks! His story was really interesting!
Jarrod,
Very nice work. I think you have done fantastic. Jarrod, please tell your mother, father and brother I said hello. You take care and please continue with your project and please keep posting pictures of your work.
Looks like a nice paint job for hand bombers. It should come out great with the decals.
Here's a close-up of the logo, if you are trying to make a decal. I would buy a model of the F-7 if MTH would make one. The track is isolated.

Thanks for emailing MTH, I emailed them last week as well, maybe they will see there are a few people interested!
From what I hear Mr Corman was indeed a great man, not many would do the things he has done.
Here is an update decals are going one pretty smooth, I still have the rear and the other side of the locomotive to do but pretty pleased with the out come, the gray could be more metallic but hey for the first custom paint job I'm satisfied!

I think it looks really sharp! Love that you did some hoppers, too. Makes for a cool train. It's really a handsome paint scheme.
Great job.
Thanks MATT01 I really appreciate the kind words!

Looking really good there, Jarrod!!
How about a shot with the caboose in view?

Jarrod,
Are those the decals we made for you on the hoppers?
Dave, LBR
Custom "O" Decals "Dave", These are your decals on the hoppers. They turned out well even thought its been over a year. Thanks again for doing these up for me. Depending, in the future I might be ordering another sheet, if I get around to another 6 hoppers. I actually have some people interested and I may sell a few so I will have to do more cars.
Thanks,
Jarrod
Larry,
Thanks I appreciate the kind words. I don't have a RJ Corman caboose yet regrettably, in due time I will.
Thanks,
Jarrod

Looks good Jared, just seen RJC in Clearfield PA on Friday.
They had a string of ballast hoppers in the Clearfield yard and a large pile of ballast that looked like it came in by truck.
They had an excavator sitting on top of the pile which will more and likely load the ballast into the hoppers.
Again great job !!!!!
