Great  Show today  ...weather and "selection"..

Today was my bridge day I got a 2214  a HO 0214 and a bridge I never  ever saw its wider than Marx  or Lionel

I tried to find one n line but did not find one its all metal   longer than Lionels 321  and has a dip in the top sort of looks like a heart  , almost sort of two bridges in one and is green ..

I also enjoyed looking at so many items I never saw before like a Marx light post with a rather large mail box on it..

One item I either should of got or glad I did not was a guy  had for sale    a 622  bell ringer ( love these diesels and own a few...  )

Anyways it was "PERFECT " no chips no marks etc/ etc... He only wanted $135.00 he said he would take 120.00!  I picked it up in frount of him and it had the bell  etc etc.  BUT not a mark. I asked him since this was a TCA meet if it was a repaint  HE said no way  I told him Evan the chassis looked perfect and that it wsa rare to find one so cheap and clean..

While I was talking to him he keeped smiling so I passed.. Funny part is his "OTHER " engines and items where going for  TOP dollar..

I sort of regret not buying it for a runner but with out knowing if it was a repaint and since I did not have my super magnifying glasses guess I never know if I did the right thing or not

But either way everything I did get ,and got to see, was a GREAT day to be enjoying Trains ..

HI thanks for the suggestion..  But  since I had this in my hand I was able to clearly see it was PERFECT  something like 60 yrs old!

Asking about a guys reputaion is fine if you do mail order or maybe evan ebay  . But this dealer told me it was orginal and it came from a private collection.. Also he mentioned that the perfect decal on it in the center  not evan a little yellowed , no signs of ever ever being hand rubbed  no marks anywhere

Also the red flag came to me when I looked at it it was @ 2 oclock or more and the show was  starting to wrap up I saw a few dealers starting to pack there items away.. So I wondered WHY NO body bought it at this great deal.

IF IF he new it was a repaint I probly would of bought it fro a runner IF he did not know he should of said so That he did not know..  I know the parts alone  on it was wurth the "money".

But as I said for 135 and  his offer of 125.00  with so many other trains he had for  prices you would expect to pay .  Besides it was a 634 sant fe  switcher nicked roof paint marks  rubs  etc etc   that was going for 135.00 and I feel 135.00 or lower would be a or a normal price to pay..

o well I'm sure I still one day would of liked to have it for a runner ....then again maybe  he was Santa and I refused a NOS 622 BELL RINGER>>!!! (for $125.00)
