Tender IDs

The 218T is not a tender in the usual sense.

It's a non-powered, dummy Alco A unit diesel.

It doesn't have anything to do with a steam locomotive or the 1110T.

Well, I'll be.....so I bought a tender in a box that was supposed to have an ALCO A unit dummy in it! The good news is that I gave only about $6 for it and it LOOKS new. Unfortunately, no stamp on the bottom - wonder what it really is?

So in general, where do you get info on steam engine tenders? I see that Tandem lists them as part of a steam engine "set" but does not list the tender number separately. In other words, if I have an 1110T tender, where can I learn what engine(s) that tender came with originally?

From what have seen, the 218 was the only tender box that was printed 218T, and listed as a tender.  In the normal sense, it isn’t a tender, which are typically paired to steam engines.

Tricked by an oddball!!! But no regrets, I thought I was buying a tender and that's what I got! Trying to make room for Railsounds 2.5 in it now!
