help ,while running trains for company tonight,,,,i was running a ps2 with my tablet,,,the train spooked the cat and landed on my remote,and hit the emergency button,,,remote display "reset remote and tiu,,,,as luck would have it,,i lent my barry's handbook to a friend,dang,,,anyway,,,i tried what I thought would work but the tiu still has no output,,,,is there a button on the tiu to reset it ,or is that done thru the remote,,,,,no treats for kitty,,,,,,ok maybe a few

Just unplug it for a few seconds.

normally you only have to power down tiu and remote and then restart and all works, if that don't do it reset tiu n try if still don't work reset remote and retry should be no reason it wont work unless something happened to tiu electronics. normaly after reset will work fine , I have done it!

If you really want to reset the remote to factory defaults, that is done with the remote. Cycling power doesn't really "reset" it.
all the above,and unplugging the tiu this am ,did the trick,,,thanks to all to you guys coming to my rescue,,,,of course always happens with company !!
I defer to the guys above regarding DCS (or anything electronics). I know nothing.
However, I know what works for me. Anytime I am forced to press the emergency stop, I reset by cycling power on the remote and unplugging the TIU. I'm not even certain why I do that. Prior to this thread, I would have assumed I read it in Barry's book. I guess not.
