I was always pleased with the double loop track you can make using just one 45 degree cross track.  When the youngsters watch it, they seem amazed the the same engine is on two different tracks.  Great for under the tree.

While waiting for a malware scan to finish, I was doodling and I came up with a way to have three different circles.

My PC literate son found a shareware track program called Anyrail, and came up with a 10' x 5' layout that i thought i would share.  It uses 0 Gauge three rail.  Most tracks are standard lionel part numbers.  We only had two track cuts to make it fit.

Has anyone else done anything like this?  Unfortunately, it may be too large for some under the tree.

Try drawing the plan without looking at the picture.  It was like one of those brain teasers.

If you mean can I post the Anyrail saved file that was created to make this plan, it may not be useful.   The Anyrail shareware only allows for 50 tracks.  (I think we used 57 or 58).  We had to do a some fudging just to get a complete diagram.  I'll ask my son to get it posted here anyway.

Attempting to add attachments.

The layout was done in two halves, then we used Photoshop to create the above posted image.  Good luck with the files, oh and let me know how you do.

Here you go.  I just opened each one, pasted the second section in to the first one, and changed one straight to a filler to adjust the length so the curves would join properly.

I attached the finished AnyRail file as well, and a list of materials.

Nope, just the one you see.   It was presented in two parts, I just joined them and sorted out any mis-matches.  To do it in tubular track would require a bit of work, as the curves are not the same.

The size is 126.5" x 57.6" center-to-center on the widest track run.
