I'm wiring my operating/uncoupling UCS tracks to work with fixed voltage wired directly to the transformer.  I've read and reread the Greenberg manual as well as another wiring book but am still having problems making the things work correctly.

The photos show the wiring as temporarily attached to the UCS track.  The wire on the left is clipped to the common on the transformer and feeds the top blade (when viewed from the bottom).  The third wire from the left is clipped to the + on the transformer, and feeds the copper strip that is in contact with the operating buttons on the control.  The second and fourth wire are connected as seen and are fed by the 2/3 blade on the control.

As I have it wired the log car will unload when unload is activated, however when I push uncouple I get nothing.  When I place a sliding shoe non-accessory car on the track it will uncouple when I push unload but nothing when I push uncouple.

Does anything in the photo jump out at anyone as to the possible problem?  Any test procedures that will allow me to troubleshoot?  The two books are not very clear with their instructions OR more likely I'm unusually dense on the subject. Thanks to allIMG_0042IMG_0043IMG_0044IMG_0043

That diagram is showing the track installed in a common ground layout, where the outside rails are common to that 1st binding post and the left alligator clip. There really isn't any reason to disconnect that wire, for constant voltage operation just the one to the fixed voltage transformer is enough.
