All aboard! The latest video production from Stockyard Express is in the form of the long-awaited MTH RailKing Scale Nickel Plate Road RS-3. Appearing in the 2014 Volume 1 catalog, this scale sized ALCO RS-3 diesel locomotive is packed with power and detail worthy of any Proto-Sound 3.0 model. But wait there’s more! The first of the newly tooled Premier Line flats with crates have also arrived from MTH Electric Trains. These hi-rail freight cars are packed with railroad specific lettering and colors, come with three removable crates, and separately applied chains to secure each crate in place. Available roadnames include; New York Central, Pennsylvania, Union Pacific, and U.S. Army. They may be purchased individually or in 6-car sets.

If you are wondering how to buy that fancy looking Nickel Plate Road caboose at the end of the train you will not have to wait long. Our Stockyard Exclusive Nickel Plate Road N6b cabooses will hopefully be delivered within the next few weeks! There is still plenty of time to order one but remember we will only be producing 100 of these cabooses.

SE,

   Nice video and train.

I would like to ask MTH, Lionel, Atlas etc why they put loads on flatcars especially scale flatcars. We are model railroaders, I am sure we can all figure out what they like to put on flatcars and how to do it. Me, I load mine with Sherman tanks and other WWII era military vehicles. I don't want to tell you how many Atlas pipe loads I have either given away or thrown out. Good thing my military train is done or should I say I am out of siding or I would be giving away MTH crates.

Anyway now back on subject........thanks for posting.

Glad to know you all enjoy our videos and approve of the RS-3 and the flats. Both were and are very popular items at the store today!

Stay tuned as next withing the next week or two we will have videos of the new Premier SD70ACe with a new sound set, RailKing SP Cab-Forward Set, and the Golden Spike Sets.

Also I should add that our deadline for pre-orders from the MTH 2015 Volume 2 catalog is MAY 20TH. Check out our website for special pre-order prices.

The flats are from MTH 2015 V1. They are newly tooled. Buying a six pack reduces price to about $55 each shipped. Will add them to my MTH Sherman train.

MTH says Jeeps were actually shipped in crates during the war. Unsure about whether or not the number and size of crates are correct. Probably not but good enough for me.

Army olive drab cars are probably also incorrect for WWII but I thought that they would look better for the purpose.

i will post photos next week for critical review. I'm particularly interested in lengths compared to previous cars.

If you look at them closely they have a build date of 6-53 marked on the sides.
