I have noticed that the smoke fan motor in my VL GG1 now sounds like an old washing machine.  I took the smoke unit out and cleaned everything.  Everything turns freely and the impeller is not rubbing.  I added a drop of oil to the shaft and reassembled it. Unfortunately, it sounds exactly the same.

Does anyone know the part number for the motor?  It is identical to an MTH IB-0000006 but is about 2mm shorter and there is not enough room to squeeze it in.

One other curiosity, with the locomotive and sound on, but just idling, the front speaker (F end of loco) produces a constant Morse code B (dash, dot, dot, dot). The sound is sort of a cross between static and a buzz.  As you increase the throttle the noise stays the same and is always there under the other sounds.  Also, the sound of this buzz remains constant, regardless of volume setting.

Ideas?  Thanks.
