Hello Friends!
I have a Premier FM Trainmaster Loco that added fine to the TIU but after shut down and Start up again has very LOW engine sounds volume. I have tried feature reset and it pops back up to high volume sounds. But after the next shut down and start up it's right back to extremely low volume. It appears to be a 5 volt PS2 board. Any ideas friends? Like battery maybe?

Odds are that the battery needs to be charged or replaced. The battery is required to save sound settings after they're changed.

Have you tried adjusting to volume knob?
The volume pot has nothing to do with operation under DCS.
Further, his problem is that sounds aren't saying where they're set from power-off to the next power-on.
You didn't mention whether the loco has a supercap or a battery. If a supercap has drained, or the battery is low but can take a charge or a surface charge, the volume will be very low for about a minute, and then come back up.

Howdy: It is a battery about to become a BCR. I really like BCRs and have had great luck with them. Mark

Nope .... pretty much seems to be an almost dead battery issue.
I'm going to defer to GRJ, BB, & GGG at this point.
Have you checked that both speaker wires are firmly connected? I recall that the speakers in 5-volt units have a tendency to fail. I'd try a new speaker

If you're going to defer, just defer. 
Regardless, it's almost certainly not the speaker.

But you did waffle, Barry, using "probably." Speaker connections are easy to check. Given that you have officially recognized the possibilik.ty, it's worth checking. I also agree there is a good chance that the battery is wea

You're clutching at straws. It's usually my habit never to say "never".
A good habit, considering there are a few uncertainties in diagnoses where there is no visible failure---as here.
