Customer records!  What customer records?  LOL. I’m with you Andy.  After working for over 10 years for a power company, where wiring was neat as a pin, everything was tagged, and all drawings were up to date, I was appalled  at what I saw at customer telecom and data rooms.  That is why I like layout wiring to be neat and well documented.  There, that gets us all back on the train track!

Looking good guys

Back to work on my Remington Arms Factory building. Tonight I put down the letters for my stencil , then painted black over them. Next I removed the letters and masked off the the letters and some black around them. Off to painting the walls. I took several hours with the sponge method but I think the color came out great. I was planning on added the reddish brick columns and over the windows but opted not to do it, as I didn't want to screw up the walls I just spent all that time on. Here are some photos.

This is what the other building that will be the other Remington Plant building that will connect with on the other side of the double tracks with the man bridge. I will match brick colors.

Lee, What a great view of your Layout! It really show your heart into this hobby! Wonderful job on the video and music!

Lee, The video was really well done!  It compliments your wonderful layout very well!

Al, The Remington sign came out great!  Wow, that's a lot of man bridges on the actual Remington factory!  The bridges on the actual factory are kind of boring compared to some of the others.  It depends on how much modeler's license you want to use.

Mike, I'm glad you are back at the layout making progress.  Wow, one year since the foundation, floor and frame were all that was there.  I'm glad you included Tank inspecting everything!

Al cool building. Remington is a great company!  Is your bench work all done?  

Been back and forth with Lionel and others and finally got the part # to the Southern engine I want to order !!! YAY!   Now to find someone to order it from. 

After some consideration we have decided to remove all of the sidewalks/parking lots from the buildings that have them. This is major work for me lol

Al,  Nice work on the Remington factory building,  are those Chooch Ultraline II walls still available, or out of production ?  

Johan,  great scene with the generator haul,  is that the MTH premier heavy duty 47 foot flat car with generator?  

After shoveling a bunch of really heavy snow off my deck yesterday, decided it was time to clear off and move the shelving at the end of the room so I could start building the last section of the railroad.   Finally trains will be able to run the entire main line without backing up.

Chris A : Thanks. Yes. it´s a MTH Premier Heavy Duty 47 foot flat car with generator. I have a also one 40 foot flat car with a scratch build generator load.

Hi Everyone, thanks for the nice comments on my 1 year anniversary! While doing this project is sure seamed like everything was going so slow! But it is a big change already! Thanks to all of your help! You all ROCK!

Chris, I am sorry you had to shovel snow! I know it really sucks! I am glad your moving on to the last wall of your layout and that you wont have to back up anymore!

Jim, I sure hope you will take pictures as you go along removing the sidewalks, so the rest of us can see how its done!

Mike, Thanks for the comments on the Remington plant.  It seems like yesterday you started building the new train addition. 

I installed the long retaining wall and put down some basic ground cover. I made this wall the same as the small one I installed recently, because they are one continuous run. The last picture is an overhead shot, and shows how the two walls meet towards the top of the picture. I’m glad I finally got an opportunity to do this project, it’s been a long time coming. Thanks for looking.

Impressive!

Saw the DT&I post.  I have an old 1971 DT&I Yardmaster set, hence my handle, I got for Christmas in 1971.  It has the GP20 yard switcher, a DT&I work caboose, one of those two wheel, two truck, wagon style box cars sporting General Mills logo, a gondola loaded with upright tanks, and a log dump car.  I had no idea DT&I stood for Detroit, Toledo and Ironton until last year.  Since I have the set, three of my switch track were named for the set.  I retired it from service and shelved it for display. 

Al very cool!   Did you build all those buildings!    I think I like the one in picture 5 and 8 the bust with the tow truck!!  VERY COOL!!   Nice layout!!   And room to grow! 

Yardmaster my first O gauge train was the DT&I yardmaster set!  I still have the engine and parts of the MOW car.  Recently someone gave me an identical engine in MUCH better shape than mine.  But my hobby shop guy says they aren't worth fixing up.  I dont think he sees the sentimental value I have on the original engine. So when I learn a bit more I will redo it myself.

Great picture of Tank. Dogs are the best. If people were as nice as our dogs, we'd be living in a much better world. I have a Homie Dog that looks very similar to him.

I have a son that I have called Homie since birth lol   His name is Jim also.  My dog likes trains too!  I will have to get a picture of her and post it.

Hi Jim, yes, I've built all those buildings. The junk yard office I scratch built from foamcore and coffee stir sticks in a couple evenings
