You are right, i.e. those are the air compressor "shields", with the intercooler generally located behind the center portion. That said, I must admit that I have not seen such details offered separately in O Scale.

If you can't cannibalize it off another junker. You make it yourself.

Martin, if I could semi-master the software design programs I would in a minute.  I can draw what I need using pencil/paper but I don't think I can cram it into a 3D printer and have it make the part...yet

Thanks Jack, I took a guess at what they ought to be called, it was either shields or guards.  I looked at the old PSC catalog and Bob Stevenson's stuff and found nothing.

I may have a spare, but it is not exactly like that ACL thing.  My SP Berk needed one like that (bullets? Lipstick tubes?) - I had to make that one from scratch.

Haha it does kind of look like a bullet now that you mention it. 

Looks pretty easy to fabricate from brass.

Here's another bit that I couldn't figure out what it was, until someone on the ACL/SAL forum told me:

The thing in the cubby hole, turns out to be a water cooler (or maybe a keg of beer!).  I've got a way better photo of the real deal but it's got copyright stuff on it I think so.....

I never saw a tender like that! I mean obviously I never saw one in real life but that's a cool detail. It doesn't look like it would be particularly hard to replicate either assuming there's empty space in that corner 

My money's on the keg of beer.    

Actually looks like a quarter keg vs the half keg (see, I knew a college education would pay off!! )

Before trying to 3D print this or fabricate it from sheet stock I would be looking for a closed cylinder that could be cut,  like this.

Hint, toothbrush.
