i attended the greater wayne co[former wooster,oh] show today. show was 500 + tables, but about 1/2 or more was non-train items. several layouts in all gauges which was a good thing for the family. best o gauge items i saw was a lionel 4bay dia. chem. alum hopper for $30.and a mikes un. pac. shna. flat for $75. i went back 15 min later to grab the hopper, but someone else got it.also had a dealer with mth n.s. heritage power/dummy pairs for $600 a set. book dealer selling new sealed morning sun books $44 if you paid cash.

Because this show conflicted with the one in Dayton, that I attended yesterday, and continued today, and the Dayton show was packed, buyers and sellers, I thought that the Dalton show might be slim on sellers, so I, who had planned to go, decided to pass, and skip the drive.   I have been to it previously a couple of times, and found nothing earth shaking.  (of course, I found nothing wildly exciting in the Dayton show, either,

but there was a lof of all trains)

Hi Jim, I was there with my son and wife today. We had a pretty great time. I wish I had more time to walk around and look but my boy was getting cranky.

Picked up a Lionel Log Loader 364 for 10 bucks

Barrel Loader Gondala Car and Barrel Loader for 12

LH & RH O27 O42 Turnouts for 30 for the set

Some Hot Wheels for my son and a wood animal train

Lionel Beacon Tower for 2

I thought they were pretty good deals.

With the layout coming down this weekend and expansion happening over the next 6 months I am on the hunt for Atlas track again.  I was very fortunate to find just a regular guy (not a dealer) who is getting out of the hobby and was selling off his collection including track.  Got a good deal on atlas 72 curves, 10" straights, and 72 switches.  Really helped make a dent in the amount of track I need to purchase over the next couple of months.  Didn't find anything else that was a great deal or something I really had to have but the track find made this a great show for me.

bryan: was the track seller along the wall near the dealer selling the morn. sun books? i saw 3 or 4 sellers w/ atlas o track.....pretty good for a show of this type. i also saw about 4-5 atlas switches ,no box, no switch machine for$15 apiece, and i forgot to go back to buy em.

everyone, thanks for your comments you left here.-Jim

I thought it was a good show, too. There didn't seem to be as many people in attendance as in previous years, but I think many folks decided to take advantage of the nice weather (no rain) and rake up leaves. I was able to get a nice backdrop building from Angie's Track Side Scenery; a dealer who usually only sells through eBay.

Jim, he was on the left side wall as you came in the front door (near the snack area).  I was able to pick up some 54, 72, and 72Y's for about 20 dollars apiece from another guy I knew near the middle.  He gave me first crack at them so those were not on a table.  Missed out on the 15 dollar ones, I would have grabbed them if I saw them.

But I got a chance to see Bryan close his deal on Atlas track....................Paul

Thanks for the reference Paul, I think after going back and buying more from him in cash he wasn't so worried about taking a check.  Had the cash just didn't want to spend it all in the first 5 minutes of the show.
