I live in a little town called Brisbane.  It's located on the southern border of San Francisco (SF), nestled against San Bruno Mountain.  The population is 3,600.  It was partially a "railroad town" with a Southern Pacific industrial rail spur that serviced a warehouse district. The spur was connected to part of the great SP Bayshore Yard which was partially in Brisbane.  That is all gone now.  All that's left of the yard are Union Pacific freight tracks going into SF and the CalTrain commuter tracks that run between San Francisco and San Jose and the abandoned Bayshore Roundhouse.  About 2 miles south of Brisbane is a small Union Pacific rail yard and a CalTrain station.  I often do some railfanning there.  In this UP yard is an old, concrete loading dock.  It is in the middle of the CalTrain car parking lot.  There are tracks that lead from the dock into the rail yard.  The dock was from the "old days" when box cars would be spotted on either side and unloaded into trucks.  Although the tracks are still there the dock had not been used for a long time.  The rails were overgrown with weeds.  Then, on December 24 I drove by the yard.  Much to my surprise the weeds had been cleared and there were bulkhead flat cars lining both sides of the dock!  It was very interesting.  I had my trusty Nikon with me!  Matt
