I thought Baby Train Masters were FM H16-66.  There was a H16-44, but that was a different engine.

Also, the H16-66 was not given a name by the company like the H24-66 Train Master was.  Rail fans, because of its close resemblance to the Train Master, gave the H16-66 the nickname "Baby Trainmaster".  So I guess you can write it either way.

So, to eliminate any confusion, I recommend they just make the H20-44.

Baby Trainmasters are 4 axle.

No, they're not.

So-called railfan-named "baby" Train Masters were H16-66's and were nine feet shorter than the H24-66 Train Master, The -66 indicating 6 wheel trucks.

Only Milwaukee Road, C&NW, Squaw Creek Coal and Tennessee Valley Association rostered the H16-66.

Late model H16-44's were built with similar body to the Train Masters, but that didn't make them TM's, baby or otherwise.

H-16-44 Early   H16-44 Late

The term "Baby Train Master" did not exist in FM documentation.  Only the H24-66 bore the name Train Master.

This has been a Public service Announcement.

Sorry if my comments offended anyone but here in the area of the VGN I grew up with them being called the Trainmasters-Train Masters (six axles and Baby Trainmasters-Baby Train Masters (four axles).  I never saw FMs printed materials I just remember seeing the diesels painted N&W and photographing them in the stored/scrape line.  Either way I would buy the six and four axles units made by Sunset.

Car Works made some of the four axles but never the VGN versions.

As I understand the evolution that led to the F-M Train Master, birthed with their entry 6 axle/6 motor road switcher, the H16-66, introduced in 1951. In 1953 the most powerful diesel locomotive was introduced as the H24-66 "Train Master". It was the hot rod of locomotives able to out accelerate any locomotive in its class. Seems like an icon locomotive any serious modeler would consider for their collection.

Well the FP45 was just announced. Scott must have gotten lots of emails for it. Good follow on - fit with past passenger car offerings too. This should make the SF crowd happy - and others too of course. I get a pass on this offering and that gives my bank account a breather. But It also sound like Scott is firming up the Alco FA for 22. That’s Good for me in that it spreads out expenditures a bit later.
Cheers !!!

Once again I put forward the Diesel Hydraulics built by Alco for SP (C-643DH) and UP.*C-855).  They are big, beefy brutes and have not been done in O gauge.  Given these two popular road names I think they would sell well.  I would take one of each.

Have you checked with Sunset/3rd Rail? I seem to remember that Scott announced those models quite some time back. Then again, my memory isn't what it used to be.

I think it time to queue up a E5,6 Run#2. Offer up all the originals but add repaint later versions too. I’d be in for a MP in Jenks Blue. And an original MP would go wonderfully with an “Eagle” Consist.
(Perhaps this can be appended to the EA E1 offering to help reach aspired run numbers 😬)

Well - update time. Run 2 of the E5,6 is coming !!! Yay !!! Those that balked at getting a MP AB because there were no passenger cars will no longer have that excuse. 😬  (Very Few were done)  The original paint schemes are a start but if you want later paint schemes, email Scott. Though the MP E6 must be done to match the EAGLE passenger set, I want to see a Jenks Blue offering too. IC snd RI have interesting later paint jobs too.   Cheers.
