They are some fabulous, classic American steam locomotives. I am a steam fanatic! So, thanks for sharing them.

Also, I LOVE your viaduct. what did you use to make the stonework on the viaduct? It, also, is really great!

No idea how they were constructed Randy as I picked them up at a train show in Asheville a couple of years ago. A fella was trying to leave early and unloading his unsold items. "Anyone interested in these viaducts"? he called out. He traded me for an ample supply of Gargraves track (mostly "New old stock"). They are quite heavy and appear to be plaster. I get many compliments on them especially in photos like these...

Thank you very much for your reply. The viaduct is GREAT! The compliments you get are well deserved.

I am trying to find a stonework medium that looks as does your viaduct for a large church I am planning to build for my layout. I have some ideas but, I have yet to find exactly what I want. Your viaduct's appearance is it.

and as always, i plan out the placement of various Homasote pieces.  As I mentioned earlier, I put blue board underneath and leave gaps to run wires thru.  I try to make it so that gaps are were most wires will be needed.  Since the Homasote pieces are basically the same size, they get involved too.

I used this same design a few years back so that I could see all of my family members' houses that I made models of.  I liked it enough to use it again

He responded to me in a subsequent post and told me that he, also, did not build it. He got it at a train show. He thought it may be made of plaster. It is rather heavy.

Randy,  that is hilarious,  Oldyitis is catching up to me fast..  Either way',, it is a very cool viaduct.  I'm in the process of manufacturing one made out of Styrofoam.  I just hope it will look as good as Sam's...😁

C.Sam'  That is one fine looking viaduct you have there'..  Before poured concrete that was the ticket'..  I apologize for the mix up.. I thought it was Randy's.  All I can say is some days are diamonds and some are Jacks.  Been on borrowed time the past 14 years... LOL..😁☘

MOW workers.  Amiss Hogg, C.T. Waters, and Arnie Lipsky are all gitner done while two passers by decide to take a break to chat it up while sitting on a cross tie.

Notice the Santa House is a different color in each picture.  It rotated thru 7 colors but gave the option (via a remote that came with it) to lock in just one color.  It also used distilled water to create chimney smoke

From our motel room in Bozeman in 2019, we could hear train movement all through the night...the next morning we drove around the area to catch this freight going west.   I count six power units...the consist was so long we finally gave up waiting for the train to pass and moved on...

I congratulate you and your family for giving us folks here on the OGR Forum a look at what sectional track, on the floor or tables, bringing back those fond memories of Christmas. I can remember setting up my trains on the floor in different configurations and running them for hours. Thank You for bringing back fond memories.
Now, my pictures for the day are re-configuring my train room walls. In selling the items from a recent collection, the wife of my friend gave me this shelf. You can see the before and after. Happy Railroading Everyone

In 2022, The LCCA and the TCA organizations had their National Conventions in Nashville Tennessee, each organization had bus loads of folks come to our home for the layout tours, We had a lot of fun. Dr. Jack Fisher and I offered our layouts for fun. Happy Railroading Everyone

Thanks again Bob.  #48 is my 2023 Christmas Layout.  I mentioned earlier that I use, typically, just 1 image per week from that layout in Scott Smith's weekend photo fun thread.  So I'm already 5 months thru of those images.  I suppose since I've already shown overall shots and the track plan I could do that.

The Howard Johnson's was a gift from a friend.  It's definitely not 'O' but I don't know if it's 'N' or 'HO'.  I'm not familiar with the size of things in those scales.  He included some people and they seem to me to be 'N' size.

FOR TODAY:  It's 1950 and A Western Maryland Railway caboose crew, Tadpole Willis and Baldy Janks,  chats it up.  " I tell you what Tadpole; it ain't going to be but a short time before those new fangled diesel locomotives will out number these o'l tea kettles.   You better mark my words too!" " Baldy there ain't no way that's going to happen on this railroad or any railroad in the country!   My daddy was a steam locomotive engineer and his daddy before him and his daddy before him too!  And here I am a conductor with 29 years seniority and there ain't been no diesel that can hold a candle to a J class, an A class, a Big Boy, a Hudson, a K 4 Pacific, any Mallet, a Berkshire, a what have you! These gol darn diesels ain't  nuttin but a fad.  All they're good for is pushing cars around a yard and you can betcha your sweet keaster that steam is here to stay .. especially big steam!  Just look at the N&W they ain't got one gol dang diesel on their property and they are still building steam locomotive down thar in Roanoke too!!  They ain't buyin non of that diesel popy cock!   So my good friend Tadpole Willis, YOU mark my words and make sure you mark them in bold ink too!  Now let us  go get us a cold one over at Boyds and play a round of billiards and forget we had this entire conversation"  ... yet just another day on the railroad .. back in the day.  

Poor Tadpole Willis didn’t count on them stringing 6 or 8 of those diesels together into one big powerhouse! 😉

A little mishap on North Main over the weekend...only minor injuries to the cycle rider...the same local guy has caused his share of accidents in town...  His '55 Bel Air has seen better days...
