This this isn’t a new locomotive for some, but it is for me.  I had it on layaway at my local hobby shop in Manassas, VA, and I picked it up this past weekend.  It is the third Premier locomotive being added to my carpet central.  It is a great locomotive.

Today a kit for an 1 gauge sleeping car of the CIWL, with full interior, arrived. The kit is made by the Italian company Amati who is known for its kits of ship models. I will be busy for a while

Yesterday I got two sets of Weaver/MTH die cast trucks from Patstrains. I am hoping MTH will also issue the roller bearing trucks down the road. Pic..............Paul

I saw that too when I was ordering the Bentondorf ones. Now I have to place an order for a bunch of the roller bearing trucks. Also I am wondering if MTH might issue the Weaver die cast trucks that they did for Cabooses...Paul

Got one of the Weaver 57' reefers with sound and LED indicator lights from forum member Rattler21. Very nicely detailed, good running modern car. I've wanted one since I first saw them, think it's cool the way the lights and sound cycle. (As others have made mention, the sound is kind of static-like, but still worthwhile). 

These are usually pricy; so I'm glad to have purchased from Rattler at a better than typical price!

Another successful (partially) weekend on the interweb

I missed on a nice WbB Western Maryland ALCO F-1 AB set.

Was away from the trains for two and a half months dealing with a total knee replacement and while I was recuperating, three items I had ordered arrived (luckily, all were shipped USPS, so the mail room in my development held them until I got home.

First up, a beer reefer from the NJ HIRailers - gotta love Bert and Harry!!!

The second is another wonderful Long Island car from the Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers - some really nice, crisp graphics.

And finally, from Derek at Notch 6, the Madison Hardware boxcar. Wow... he got a lot of pics on that car and they are still crisp.

Way lots lol.  Need to take a break lol.

All three cars are very, very well done!!  My compliments to the groups that commissioned them and the manufacturers!  It is amazing what can be done with graphics these days.  I remember hand lettering cars, but then I was a draftsman long ago. 

I'm glad you are back home from the total knee replacement!    My wife had one and needs another but our insurance says we have to wait for Medicare!  She needs it.  I have one I need done also, but I'm older so Medicare isn't that far away.  

Great looking cars, Andy!  I love those outside braced cars!!  I have a few too!

Yup scored them cheap on eBay. Lot atlas stuff. 

Picked up this Lionel 2332 GG1 set, super clean, even the track is super clean. Engine, passenger cars and the RW xformer have thier original boxes.  One owner set,  All for $300 bucks.   Made a huge loop thru Ohio to pick up my 7.5 in gauge rails and ties for my backyard railroad and picked up the Lionel set on my way home.

Good morning. USPS dropped off two packages. One was a caboose for the CTTA. I had been looking for one every since I got their engine. FFound one at a hobby shop in Canada. Now I have both. And scored two more Weaver wood chip hoppers from the "B". Pics..................Paul

Took a short trip out past Gettysburg this AM and bought a nice Lionel 616  "Flying Yankee" set in really nice shape. One of the few "I want it" things on my list. Runs great. Black & chrome.  Also picked up a nice Lionel Standard gauge 514 box car and then photographed the local CSX  freight train coming through town.

Where's your pictures of the Flying Yankee & boxcar?????

I figured the Flying Yankees and the box car looked the same as others. Wrked on cleaning the boxcar but still more to do. maybe tomorrow if the sun comes out.

Love these small motorized engines.  Also picked up the hard to find "Paul Revere" MPC Congressional car.  

All "operating" cars:  Alien aquarium, pop up alien, flashing light biohazard tank and glow in the dark AEC box car.  This almost completes my Area 51/Alien consist... just need a sound car.

Picked up the MTH DAP NS OCS F-7 ABA and 7 of the cars offered. Also got the MTH Premier NYC Heritage & Premier Veterans SD60e. Nice haul from the hobby shop!

I totally agree, very cool. Both little motorized units and alien stuff.

I think the Alien Aquarium car, biohazard car,  etc are super as well as your other acquisitions. Have fun with them !!

Why, yes I have. Just bought a very nice original Lionel standard gauge #10 loco plus parts from a very nice gentleman. We met today and completed the transaction. no shipping charges with a nice wheel puller thrown in with the deal. The ironic thing is he was just tossed out of the forum, after being treated very badly, for not 'following the rules".  Gee, the guy is an engineer in our space program and he can't follow the rules. Very nice Navy veteran to boot. we have agreed to stay in touch outside the forum rules  which is probably the best way.

Jo-Ann's Fabrics had this on sale 50% off. Bought it to use on the workbench.

I bought these Rivarossi C Liner shells a couple of years ago.  The previous owner had redecorated them and added some Pennsy specific details.  Today I was at a train show and found two converted chassis for them for running on 3 Rail O gauge.  They look great now and run terrific.  Sound installation is next.

Just wondering Paul, what are you putting all these trucks on?

Not much but did find several vehicles for the layout. One is horse drawn.

Mike G, now that MTH is making the Weaver die cast Bentendorf and the roller bearing trucks I can complete the Weaver TOFC's that had no trucks or couplers or they were two rail and I have a number of wood chips hopper kits that need trucks and couplers. I still have to buy a few more of both types....,....Paul

Picked up this little mpc set on craigslist for 25 bucks.  Its in like new condition and came with an oval of tubular track. Should be perfect for my 4 year old nephew to play with when they visit.
