I just bought a Lionel 4006 Big Boy from another member on the "Buy or Sell" forum, my second major acquisition in less than 2 months. I know I really have to stop doing this, because I just display them, not run them, and my living room already has an entire 21-foot-long wall covered in bookcases, and another wall covered in original paperback artwork.

Here's the link to the locomotive in the Lionel catalog: http://tinyurl.com/y26dj5w4

And here's my artistic photo of the Big Boy in front of the Challenger I bought at the Greenberg show in New Jersey, less than 2 months ago. Please stop me before I commit "train" again!

Posted this over on What did you do....today,  already but this was such a great deal so.....

A co-worker is moving,  and clearing out his In-law's house at the same time. He gave me a great deal $200.00 for everything. The Scout set is nothing special but complete in the original box makes it a cool acquisition. The M-10000 set was his Father-in-law's. All original including the track, manual, transformer, rheostat. etc.  Most importantly BOTH VESTIBULES Copyright date in the manual is 1941.

Thanks Cody I was wondering how many were made. I’m going to get 2 more and call it quits

thanks Larry

Sounds good. They made even more! I'll probably never get all of them. They made them for a number of club cars. My collection started because I ordered one for myself and then my dad ordered the same car for me too without him knowing it. It was fine though. I ran the two together and thought, I should buy more of these. haha

Four of us went junk shop hunting today--Did we find any bargains?

Aye, Aye, Captain Bligh! This HMS Bounty in good condition has a working lamp! I'll be adding it to the pirate fleet in My Underwater Kingdom.

No, I have no use at all for this high-quality Snap-On Tool tube cutting set in perfect condition. So, what am I going to do with it? Brag on the internet about how I got it for only $1.SUNP0011SUNP0012SUNP0007

I like the ship, should look good on your layout.

Nice buy on the tubing flare kit, looks to be for double flaring tubing.

Got it it put together, but having a little difficulty getting the big hook strung.  Big PIA, but my eyes are starting to fail me and a pair of cheaters may be needed.  Will need to take a section of the job boom out to fit on the layout.  It’s an awesome die cast model, with very, very little brass nuts and bolts to get it assembled.
