At the train show in Deland Fl.  a couple Saturdays ago I ran across three Lionel  Florida East Coast GP7's in one display box.  It turns out that they are a lash-up set 6-25809.  Two power units and one dummy unit and all three TMCC equipped,  the dummy unit with forward and reverse lights and strobe light on top.  The power units are single motor but heavy enough to pull a few cars,  they showed just a little track wear.            All for $200.

I can't get the lash-up function to work but that's okay,  I'm enjoying running them side by side.

In the video the dummy unit in on the inside track.

Program each unit, give it a number and direction, then make a lashup.  They sound great together.  At one time I had every TMCC GP7/9 Lionel made.  All great engines.  There were 3 triple lashup sets.  A Boston & Maine and a Wabash being the others.  I still have the Wabash set, one of the few O gauge models I still own.  It is my fav.  It is a Heritage series, which comes with, believe it or not, a lifetime guaranty.  Don't think yours does.  Great set.

Long may they roll.

Just curious but what about GP38-2 or SD40-2?

Nice locomotives!

As I have explained here many times, the only place were EMD used dashes was in the"Dash 2" series of locomotives. The MODEL of the locomotive has no dash - SD40 - and the Series Designation is a "-2." So SD40-2, GP40-2, SD38-2, GP38-2, etc are all correct, with no dash in the MODEL name.
