Drastic Improvement looks great. We must form a Forum Pact to use the Lionel supports only when absolutely necessary and then if you are under twelve years of age.

 

No chance of the bridge falling now!!

  Thanks for showing these new type supports, as they certainly enhance your layout.

A little history to these supports- I had a gentleman recently ask me if I could make a particular support that had the same basic pattern that I use on some of my Modular arch viaduct bridges. After about a week or so we came up with a look that we both liked and we proceeded with an order. See attached a couple additional photos which represent a graduated version of this same support. You can see in the background the Modular arch bridges with the same basic block type feature.

Thanks so much guys!!  I do think they made a big difference.

 

Rod:  The lift bridge did not come with any kind of supports or abutments.  So...I made the supports from 1/8th inch Masonite and then covered it in a stone block photo I found online.  I just printed and stitched it together and you see the results.

 

Jim:  I like the new supports...they look great and add a lot to your growing line of products.

 

Alan:  OK...OK...I promise...I won't use them unless absolutely necessary!!

I like it Allan that's a great improvement. Did you make those I beams that cap off the supports or I they prefabricated?

Matthew:  the beams that cap off the blocks are also from Jim at Bridgeboss.  He has some extra pieces...lets say leftovers...that he made available to me.

David:  The old trestles are "retired" under the layout...I will not be using them at this point.

I love those new bridge supports.  Looking good Alan.

I can see a lot of uses for Jim's supports.  One would be to offer them as concrete support piers without the block pattern for highway over passes, etc.
