Lionel set 1465, headed by a Lionel 2034, another incarnation of Lionel's "Scout" series of locomotives:
From one year only, 1952, the 2034 seems better than the traditional Scout as it features an open-frame motor and a three position e-unit. I added a bell (there's is a hole in the boiler casting for it already) and green "diamonds" in the running light fixtures.

@pd- I agree, the #2034 is a bit of an anomaly, since it is die cast and has the better motor it is "above" the low end Scout locomotives. A derivative of the 2034 the #1130 had a plastic boiler casting but the casting was identical to the 2034. It turns out that in 1954, Lionel was short of plastic bodies but had some 2034 die cast bodies left over so stamped them 1130 hence you have both plastic and die cast 1130's... Confused?? Welcome to the club ! Finally however in 1954 the tender came with an automatic coupler hence it could be coupled to regular line rolling stock.
I have a 2034 and despite its sometimes poor reputation, I like it and it runs fine. These small locomotives work exceptionally well on my little layout.
