Super nice video Cap
Windup Guy - Who made the 2 - 6 - 0 locomotive?
Heres 20 reefers and a caboose which makes a decent train on my little 10'x16'. I've probably added another half dozen since making this video. Siding storage is becoming an issue.
We have MTH Reefers
Atlas Reefers
Steel Train
Some Hy Cubes
Some Alco power
And this one is my favorite Triple headed steam on the helix with 90 Atlas hoppers

Bravo to you, Ben, and the NJ Hirailers. Enormously long trains look so much at home running on the gigantic and magnificent NJ Hirailers' layout.

It's a project I tackled a few years back - a Marx 933/991 body powered by a heavily modified Marx windup riser gear motor. I like to have a some heavy haulers on the windup layout...

I wonder what the longest train is that someone here has run on 027 track curves? As a child, I never had much luck running long trains on these curves, and for the last few years, my grandson and I still have not had much success with long trains on 027.

Samparfitt, i counted approximately 117 cars and a caboose in your ore train video. Amazing. Beautiful bridges and scenery too. Arnold
I'm pretty sure this is the longest train the Lehigh Valley Hirailers ever ran. 9 engines(not all powered), 3 Atlas articulated autoracks, and 32 MTH autoracks. It was fun running the engines in a DPU setup.

Thanks.
The hobby keeps my off the streets at night!
The layout is now 44 years old; like dog years, that's ancient!

Interesting question, Jeff. I have O Gauge with 031 curves, 022 switches and reverse loops. My maximum length trains are 10 scale cars plus caboose on inner main line loop (which has wider reverse loops than the outer loop), and 11 semi scale cars plus caboose on the outer main line loop.
As I mentioned before, the reverse loops limit the length of my trains more than any other factor. However, notwithstanding this limitation, I'm pleased running trains of 10 to 11 cars plus caboose.
If you choose not to have reverse loops and opt to use wider radius curves than the common post war 027 curved track, then you should be able to run trains substantially longer than the maximum length trains I run on my layout. Arnold
This is about the longest I ever ran at AGHR. It starts to get unmanageable packing and unpacking super long trains.
