After one lucky deal, some needed TLC and parts from Lionel Santa brought me this.
Here is the new Lionel LEGACY N&W Pocahontas passenger set:
An SP Full-Length Vista Dome Car to complete the Daylight consist:
Here are some Polar Railroad freight cars:
We have a Big Mo trailer to put on train shows!
My amazing wife got me this Jim Jordan print, one of the few prints made for the RR I model! It's about 2X3 feet (you can see the lantern to the right, and to the left is a White Pass & Yukon RR rail slice, to hold it down from the rolled condition) , so now I need to find someone to frame the thing for me.
Guys...got several alerts on this thread. The OP made it very clear that he wanted you to post what "train" items you got for Christmas. Lets keep the spirit of what he requested....other comments were edited and/or deleted. We have plenty of other threads about production problems, etc....
Here is what my daughter gave me this very large painting

I received some other items that I bought, and my wife wrapped for Christmas, but this is one she picked out herself. It is a Lionel diner that reminded her of a now closed diner near where we live. She got it online from a train shop in a town about an hour and a half from where we live that I haven't had the chance to visit yet. When lit up, the interior has a lot of detail, and the reflections on the clear and silver areas are outstanding. It says on the label it was an LCCA item from 2009. I was still in HO at the time, so I was not aware of it.

Santa's little elves got a great deal on the new N&W FM Trainmaster pictured-it runs terrific. Charles Ro+Fedex came through at 9:00 this morning to deliver the pictured FlyerChief Pere Marquette Berkshire.
While not technically a "Santa" item, I did run across a fairly rare SP Trainsounds BW caboose at a local trainshow last month. It got wrapped and put under the tree "for effect". One of the better-built BW caboose' from Lionel.

Gee, I LOVE starter sets!
Three West Side Lumber log cars bringing me to six overall. Someday I hope to have a small logging layout. NOTE: These packs appear to be mislabeled by Lionel as Western Maryland log cars on the inner and outer cartoons when actual cars are WSL (at least for the 2 sets I have).

Prospector,
I too like the log cars, the Western Maryland, and would like a layout big enough to have a logging branch. I noticed on your like of my post, I didn't recognized your face or name, so I nebbed into your profile! I see you just joined the Forum! welcome, and I hope you like it here as much as I do!

Santa, in the form of fellow member here Bill R, who also fixed me up with much of the track my layout was short. He also included this suprise box car. A MLB car none the less. I was over on Autism speaks website and MLB baseball was one of thier partners that donate money to them. Kind of cool. thanks Bill! She already has some miles on her being the 2343's Mike

What did you use for your roadbed? I'm looking for future options.
I cut ceiling tiles into strips, angles the edges and painted them. I started to glue ballast and remove the track screws and it seems to keep the noise down compared to my old layout that I just used pink foam board.

That Berkshire is good looking, my dad might want one if they made some AT&SF, I have the Same Caboose run it in unison with my SP Consolidation
My children delivered. A custom made Lionel sign from one son. A signed/numbered Lerro print of the Red Arrow Lines cars at 69th Street Terminal in Philadelphia came from my other son, beautiful. And, my daughter gave me a Nicholas Smith gift certificate. A very fortunate dad.
At October York, I got an MTH New York Central passenger set, which was my present....but, more than any gift or possession, my 3 kids are home! And, after I finish work today, my wife and I have the next 4 days to spend with them!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!

Garrett, these Menard Cars are cheaper than LIONEL and MTH, even though the selection is kinda slim at the moment (Flatcars and Boxcars) they plan to make more . I think I have at least 15-20 of their cars now, and they are great.
My wife and kids bought me these.
Weaver CB&Q U25B
Lionel CB&Q GP30
MTH CB&Q GP9
My son received a Carrera Digital 1:43 slot car set not exactly train related but cars almost are scale. Interesting note is the Ideal Motorific Bodies will fit on the Carrera chassis. It also gets him off his Tablet.

David,
Not to discount the beauty of the wood chip car, but your niece's locomotive is a work of art! That's a keeper!!

What's the catalog number on this caboose? I've been looking to get a scale SP BW caboose for a while and have a hard time finding any nice ones. I was also surprised to not find any from MTH.
Santa didn't get me any trains, but the wife did.
Also got a MTH tank filling station.

Bought a little something for myself...told myself "no more freight cars" several months ago....let's just say that this isn't the first time I've broken that pledge! This is my first Menards purchase. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it!
Also planning to stop at Just Trains in Delaware tomorrow afternoon....!

Hi Pete:
I just checked out your two Video's. I am impressed by your design. Good Job! I have a paint color question. what shade of green did you go with? I am planning on painted areas only, no grass at this point. Thanks again.

Sinclair: Sorry for the late reply as I just saw your question. The Lionel catalog # for the SP CrewTalk BW caboose is 6-29835.
Santa really surprised me with the Hallmark Toymaker set. It really looks like a Hallmark set and I know all about LionChief sets now.

Susan,
We got one of the Santa Toymaker sets too! My wife loves it. Does your gondola with the elves chasing work okay? Ours only wants to work when I put it one way on the track and they go backwards. The right way they won't move, but if I take it off the track they will when I roll the wheels with my hand
Mike,
I'll check the paint code when I get home for you and I'll post it on here.
thanks
Pete
Sunset 3rd Rail Great Northern 07 2-8-2- Mikado & OMI Ogle Coaling Tower.
I really enjoy the look of the mikado - winterized cab adds a toughness - Also, the 07 represents an historically interesting link between the M2 and rederived 08s.
Wasn't able to obtain the coal-dump house with the Ogle tower. Will have to think of a way to find one or recreate the structure.

I received the Menards flatcar with US army helicopter. What surprised me about this car was that it is BIG, as along as my Premier Hot Metal cars and as wide as my MTH Premier flatcar. Not I have an actual military train! I also finally unboxed the MTH Maz box car I bought at a train show several months ago.
