Paul, I am sure DAD has been out there in the train room! He just hasn't shared pictures of the tunnel he dug under the snow! Either that or he is curled up in a ball with train DT's!

I think one week and maybe two weeks of hints before the reveal date is plenty of time for everyone to have fun guessing. Beyond that it becomes really aggravating. I will say; however, Menards doesn't put a product on the market until they have it in their inventory ready to ship.
There is always the possibility that the reveal has been delayed due to circumstances beyond their control.
I have been used to waiting months and sometimes years for hobby product to be released- waiting a few days is literally nothing in comparison.

Yes there is that possibility. If that's the case, perhaps they shouldn't post these hints until they actually have the product.

The basics: The O gauge Piggly Wiggly grocery store reproduces an icon familiar in small towns in the south and Midwest. The structure’s base measures 14" wide by 6-1/2" deep and features a front sidewalk and decorated interior. There is illumination from the front overhang, and the storefront sign has a steadily illuminated round pig icon. The chase lighting sequentially illuminates each letter and then flashes Piggly Wiggly. There are customers and carts inside the store and shoppers outside.
Why you need this: Founded in 1916, Piggly Wiggly was the first self-service grocery store in the United States. Rather than have clerks taking items off a shelf for a customer, the customer could make their own brand selections and take his/her own basket to the checkout. The iconic cap-wearing pig image is familiar in towns large and small, and there are currently 530 Piggly Wiggly stores in 17 states.
The building design is timeless, fitting in from the 1940s through today. It is a standard shoebox design with a narrow overhanging marquee with the store’s iconic pig clerk, and an illuminated store name.
The windows and doors have trim simulating aluminum framing. The exterior has brick texture and the bricks are a cream color. On the ends are signage for Piggly Wiggly and there are vintage advertisements for Tide Soap and Campbell’s Soup. The rear of the store has an employee door and two loading docks for truck deliveries.
The store interior has printed walls with an extensive fruit and vegetable section. There is a free-standing fruit counter on the left side of the store, and a segment with cereal and soft drinks near the front window in the right side. Inside there are three shoppers with carts two standing near the fruit stand, and one by the soft drinks. A kiosk is by the front door with an employee ready to assist shoppers.
Out front are two pedestrians, two gents engaged in a conversation, and a fifth figure paused in front of the blue mailbox. You’ll also discover a mechanical pony ride and, of course, Jack the German shepherd, on the scene.
The electric signage looks great. It highlights each letter of the store’s name in sequence, and then flashes the name with all letters illuminated. The bright red letters are impressive in bright or dark room lighting.
This is an attractive store that will give Red Owl a run for its money for the hard fought battle for selling groceries in your train city.
Power requirement: For illumination, the store requires a Menards 4.5 volt power supply, Menards SKU# 279-4061, 279-4062, or 279-4050 sold separately.
The 9-Piece Plug & Play Accessory Pack (279-4681) includes one four-way line splitter, one 5-foot, one 4-foot, and one 3-foot extension section. The three Y-splitters can power up to six vehicles. Have some old buildings you’d like to illuminate? The set includes two four-inch LED tape lights that can provide additional spot lighting wherever you need it. The accessory pack can do a lot!
The 8-Piece Plug & Play Accessory Pack (279-4035) includes two 6-foot extensions (straight plug head), two 6-foot extensions (90-degree plug head), two male to female conversion pieces and two Y-splitters.

COOL!!! I will be getting one! My US power makes a BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE noise all the time. I hope this one does not! I really like Menards buildings and rolling stock! Lets have some more variety of Southern Railway stuff!! : )

This, the Red Owl, and Woodland Scenics IGA means a lot of great grocery store options. Great building and truck.
On my wish list was The Pig store like the one in our town here in Elkhorn, WI. I was thinking about making one. Now I don't need to. Awesome that Menards came out with one!
My grandmother talked about shopping at the Piggly Wiggly, but l don't think I've ever seen one, and l have been in all 50 states. She always shopped at the A&P. 530 stores? I didn't know it still existed...
Where are some of these 530 stores? I have a friend who "collects", explores, grocery stores, in Europe, etc.

The last Piggly Wiggly I visited was in Lake Geneva, WI. Yes they sell PW T-shirts too....

I have the Red Owl store, which I really enjoy! I like this PigglyWiggly as well (when I was a kid in Fargo, ND, the Red Owl was our store within walking distance, the Pig was farther along, which my mother would occasionally drive the car to shop at.
So I like the PigglyWiggly, but it doesn't look deep enough. I wonder if Menards could make a back-store without the store front, that butts-up to this store, to make a deeper overall store. Less expense without a store front for the attachment. Optional, one of the delivery doors could be rolled-up, showing product in cardboard boxes on carts, and one of the unloading-roller-tracks (correct name for this?) and a worker inside a lighted space. One could back up a truck to the door for a great scene! Well, just an idea, but could be done fairly easily: Menard's, please give this some consideration.

Cabinet Bob, you need to get a section of straight track in that curve so a quick stop would allow off loading from train right into roll up doors on the back of the Pig. Either that or a turn-out and siding for rail deliveries.
Oh by the way I think Menard's came up with another winner. Iconic brand in a reasonable footprint. Gotta go to the website to see the lights in action.

Hi M-Guy's, a very good layout selection by Menards. Touches my time frame on the nose. THE PIG is still very much alive in the South. Especially in SC. The PIG took some hits when a few major chains moved in close by. They responded well and quickly, remodeled older stores in small rural areas, and changed their merchandising plan. They have a good game plan now. Yes, I shall be ordering.

Mark the Menards Guy. For those of us who live nowhere near a Menards, these 11% rebates are a joke, since they are not usable for on-line sales. Why can't they also be applicable to on-line sales, since you do charge well for shipping & handling, which probably more than offsets the cost Menards would incur in shipping these to a store and stocking for off-the-shelf sale.

I have been planning to build a Piggly Wiggly supermarket for a while -- now it's here for me!! Also you can get the 11% off of on line sales. I do it all the time.
Dewmans, seems to me that the Menards statements are pretty clear that these 11% rebates are not usable on line--in store only. How do you get them accepted for on line delivered-to-home orders?

They could just as easily be setup to be applied to the purchase price at checkout.
