I got exactly the same result when attempting to open that file. Something is wrong with the file itself.

Interesting fact about Marty's image.  If you right click on the image and choose "View Image," it works fine, at least in Firefox.  But, if you left click either the image or the attachment, its garbage.  Go figure.

The more I use the new format the more I like it.  These items may have existed before but I've just discovered them.

Rollback editing changes:  The forward and back buttons let you undo & redo changes.  

Expand Reply box:  The handle in the lower right lets you expand the editing box.  

 

I can't wait to find more goodies.

I like this as well, but there is a margin error of sorts for me where it is cutting off the left side of the drop down now.  again, OSX10.6 Safari 5.1.10.  The drop down looks like this:

It doesn't matter much to me as I know what it is supposed to say, but it is another glitch to look at along with the others I've noted earlier in the thread .  If it is simply user specific due to the outdated browser or some such, that is fine.  

 

I get a "manage thread" for a topic I create, however this is all that is in my list.  Seems some of the features you get when you click the Take Action, so it's just redundant.

I checked my iPad 2 last night after reading David's post.   It is running the latest OS it can.   I was able to see the .pdf.

(I was hoping to duplicate so David would know not just him).

One of my fellow train enthusiast suggested I try Chrome instead of IE to view the forum during my lunch break - Wow what a difference!!

Don't know why IE is still our default browser, but clearly this is what it is supposed to look like - very nice job indeed!  And also now I see the avatar pictures in the recent post column - very nice.

I still maintain that Internet Exploder is an absolutely horrible web browser. Firefox and Chrome both outperform it. They also have no compatibility problems like IE does.

I couldn't agree more about IE....I always was pretty happy with it, and then I was hearing Rich and others hear recommending Chrome so I switched and boy what a difference!  Such a huge improvement.

Chrome is OK, if you don't mind Google tracking every web site you visit. Yes...Chrome does that.

Firefox performs just as well as Chrome, without the privacy intrusion.

Hi Rich:  The screenshot below shows one of my "Likes" about the new OGR Forum.

No 2pt line around artwork or photos. We can bleed the edge into the gray. Very cool.

Is it my Mac that going crazy with auto spelling correction or the new forum.  The Mac doesn't behave that way outside of the forum.  It's driving me batty.  Try typing "TMCC" in the search field.  tx, Ron

I am on a MacBook Pro, using Chrome, OS X El Capitan / Version 10.11. I am not seeing the issue with TMCC in a search or Auto Spell Check. See screenshot below. Click on screenshot to enlarge.

So, I'm inferring that this issue with auto spell may be specific to the Safari browser on a Mac.  Hmmm.  I'll have to look into it further on the Mac forums as I'm a dedicated Safari user and don't want to have to switch browsers just to read this forum (not that it's not worth the effort).  If anyone comes up with a setting change or other answer, please post.  tx, Ron

Hi Ron - The TMCC Search works with Safari, and so does spell check. See Screen shot below. I do not have a setting change but I do have an answer.

Spot on.  You would think someone who managed a service business supporting thousands of Windows PCs would know better.  Duh.  I've become a total Macfile and, I guess, as part of that I incorrectly assume everyone knows what OS a Mac runs AND they are always on the latest version.  For the record, it's a 2015 15" Macbook Pro Retina running Mac OS 10.11.2.

Having said that, for some reason, the issue that I was seeing has diminished.  Now, when I type "TMCC" in the search field, I'm give the option to accept the suggested spelling or "x" out and keep my version.  That's normal Mac behavior.  Problem solved to my satisfaction.

There are those who prefer Chrome and some who swear by Firefox. To all who have questions about which one to use try both. See for yourself then decide.

Just a thought about those that want to know who started a thread when they don't have an avatar, could a member upload a simple graphic file with nothing but their forum handle?  This would then add their name to the screen where the avatar would be until this is corrected.  Does that make sense?  See the example below.  Just a thought as I know some folks were asking.

The problem we had posting photos with an iPhone has been fixed. This was posted from an iPhone 6 without any problems. This was taken at the home airport the other night. Stunning!

Will someone with an Iphone 4 give this a try and report back?

Rich, FYI, forum still not usable from my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.  Also, on computer, access is delayed by files coming from some advertising group.  "adposted.com[????]

Look at my example above.  Without an Avatar assigned, there is no way to tell who started a thread either in the main forum section or the recently replied to section.  With an Avatar, on the recent activity section if you hover over the avatar image it tells you who is pictured in the avatar thus telling you who authored the thread.  Without an avatar assigned not only can't you tell from a picture, there is no identification of the thread started until you open the post.  As long as any picture is there, at least on the recently replied to section, as an avatr rolling over it will give you the members name.

Some folks made a comment that they open threads based on who started them.  I thought this was a simple solution to the problem.

 

Perhaps an easier solution to the problem is Rich creates 2 generic jpegs as we had on the other forum.  Those who do not want an avatar could download it and then use it for their avatar.  It would be the same as we had before with the exception of the forum member would have to upload the generic avatar rather than the forum software assigning them automatically.  Again just a thought.

Personally, I don't want my picture posted.  Some friend might recognize me and know with whom I associate on the internet.

minor point, but when you are editing a post, there should be a [CANCEL] vs just the [Update Now] option.  and of course i know you can just back up a page but it would be a cleaner way to exit without making changes.

doesn't bother me, but i have seen this concern a few times.  my suggestion would be to put the "Recent Posts" column in a separate frame that could be collapsed.

I find this interesting. The OLD forum pages had that same space over there on the right once you scrolled down past the RECENT POSTS widget, and no one ever said a word about it. Yet there have been several comments about it here since the upgrade. Why is it a problem now when it was not a problem before the upgrade?
