I agree, and nobody will even be able to convince me that this was not a major consideration in the decision to change the meet days and hours.  I do miss those bandit meets, which I found to be as much of an attraction as the York Meet itself.  Yes, there are a few up and running, but they are mere shells of what they once were.

I suspect that some changes in rules, hours, etc. will be made at some point as attendance figures continue to gradually decline (which they inevitably will), but at this point I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for those kinds of adjustments to occur.  It's still the greatest toy train meet on the planet, without question, and I would encourage folks to take advantage of it while and when they can.

That was the reason for sure. It worked for a while, but now the shows are coming back at least at the Holiday Inn & conference center.

The fact that the Eastern Division chooses not to make some of the suggested changes to their show does not mean they are incapable of change. It means they do not wish to implement those suggested changes.

Many of us, myself included, think we know exactly what should be done to make the York show even better. But how many of us have actually promoted a train show, or worked as part of a team promoting any sort of public event? I'd guess that most of us have not.

Certainly there is nothing wrong with suggesting ways to improve the show. But making negative comments about the show, or the people who are actually doing the work to promote the show, is not helpful.

It's called "majority rule"...plus, the members who have more "sway" are probably the ones doing most of the work.
