I couldn't get it to play in Safari on my brand new MacBook Pro but it did play just fine in Firefox on that same machine....go figure. Sometimes Safari is kinda funky that way.

How odd. For me, the preview is overexposed, but when I push play it reverts into normal exposure.

Ok now I really have no idea. The clip on the OGR forum plays on Safari on my brand new MacBook Pro but not on my brand new iPhone 13 pro, which is the phone I used to record the footage in the first place! I give up!

Pretty productive day. Decided last night after priming and painting the inside walls that I really needed to add "returns", on the brick corners up on the 3rd story. It'll improve the way the structure looks and make it easier to fabricate the warehouse windows that are going up there. It took quite a bit of cutting and fabricating to make those corner return pieces but there done.
Painted the windows today, the green is too vibrant, but that's fine as I'll be weathering them and toning them down before final install. The big progress was making the plexiglass roof and then cutting the roofing material to allow the light to pass through. I am using 1/16" Foamtastic, it's cheap easy to work with, it can be weathered. I have 2 more pieces to cut, then when the 2nd story roof is ready, I'll spray the foam with Super 77 Spray adhesive and set it on the plexi. I am happy with the way the roof is shaping up.
I removed one light, to show how the plexi appears beneath it, and yes, I need to trim that piece of roofing that's too long.

Outstanding work on the roof and windows. The return on the third floor will help make it look better, and as you said make it easier to build.

Been doing maintenance on newly obtained rolling stock but today I got out my childhood 3360 Burro Crane. The grease was so hard the wheels would not turn even after disassembly of the motor and upper chassis. A little oil and gear grease did make things move a lot better. When I disassembled the chassis, the pinion shaft washer was lodged below the copper actuating lever. It must have been installed in the factory that was. At least it was not missing. I cleaned the commutator and lubricated all the moving parts. Now it runs maybe as good as new, at least from what I can remember! About 20 or so years ago, I cleaned the outside of the cab and some of the red stamped lettering was lost. I won't make that mistake again. Here are a couple of pics.

Chris, I did not know what the ‘returns’ are called, but I agree they will be a great improvement. The roof and skylights look great!

I put away some more of the Christmas cars today, like I did yesterday, and the rest of them tomorrow, then I gotta store the fake Christmas trees temporarily littering the train room floor.
Hopefully these dreadful tasks will be complete by Super Bowl, then I can get back to ordinary times in the trainroom.

All done but fixing the holidays. It takes forever using modern latex/acrylic. An hr to dry, two for second coat, and a week to cure. Old school oil base didn’t take this long. Anyhoo, I should be able to hang it tomorrow.

Craig you got it right. We are finally down to packing away the last box of ornaments, a last load to go to the attic (#4), a 6’ wooden toy soldier, and three trees that go in the attic above the train room.
Canadian Pacific Christmas train is parked at the station where it resided last year (gotta do better this year). Knee replacement 2/14 so time is almost up. Paula is doing most of it.

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood (43 degrees in NE Pennsylvania), so I took down the last of the outside decorations this afternoon - didn’t even need to wear a jacket!!! Regrettably, Christmas is definitely over!!!
Best of luck with the knee replacement, Bill. I had both of mine done a year apart. While it is still major surgery, it is not as bad as some folks say. In both cases, the operation was Tuesday morning and I was out of the hospital Thursday. My one recommendation - get into physical therapy ASAP after the surgery and do what your therapist says!!!

Well guys for the last couple days I worked in the train room on the upper loop, no matter how hard I tried even with flex track with the location of the switch and how much room I had I just couldn't make it work right! Here is a couple photos of what I thought would work, but my MTH 4-8-4 just did not like the tight curves I made with the flex track.
So, then it was on to plan B, move the switch and cut more plywood so I could use all the 072 curves I had and fill the rest in with a small section of flex track. After reading the owner's manual, come to find out the 4-8-4 requires 072 curves! LOL Go figure!
So, I moved the switch to the back wall and got to work! I tried leaving it ridged but got tired of crawling under. So, I made it a drop down like the lower loop. here is a photo and video of what I came up with.

was able to finish up the flat car for my B&M wreck train. Now onto the crane tender car with a little help from gunrunnerjohn.

So I went downstairs after dinner last night with no particular plan in mind except running trains for a while. Then I remembered that I needed to clean the track. That counts as running trains right? I got started on the main loop and was about to start on the upper loop when the CEO requested my undivided attention for something else. Oh well- the track will still be there tonight......

Ohh yea it is! Raising the entire benchwork, redoing all electrical and upgrading to LED, enhancing all my landscape since YouTube is around now to assist with this build, doing a lot of different sound deadening things since postwar and tubular on plywood is just a tiny bit loud, and a surprise that shall not be disclosed just quite yet.
Demolition went pretty fast today so the rebuild should be a breeze!! Hahaha

Hi guys, I hope you all had a great day with your trains and layout!
Here is my update of the layout, I was able to get all the failsafe wiring for the bridges and ran some trains for a little bit. Photos below.
All power to both sides of the drop down are powered by the feed to the drop down, I know its crude but it is what I had on hand. I cut the brass strips out of an old brass door kick! LOL
