ATLAS GP60 SANTA FE NON POWERED ENGINE.

I have a pair of the 1st release bought off of a forum member several years ago and I still enjoy them. The early Railsounds are OK, not great. but the details on these is terrific. Hopefully you'll find a set at a good price.

 

 

Thanks for the pixs and info. The ones I saw were called Dummy "B". they were mostly silver, no cab with the Red lettering.

No, what I saw was called a bummy "B". All silver, no cab, and the Red lettering. They almost look like a GP 9 or 7 without a cab. I thought they were really neat.

Sounds like you stumbled upon something like this...

 

 

These were first offered by Atlas in the 2004/2005 timeframe.  Seems like just yesterday!!! And for that time represented the epitome of detail/quality in O-gauge 3-rail diesel locomotives.  Even by today's standards, they hold their own quite well in that regard... so much so that I still own a complete GP60M/GP60B/GP60B/GP60M set despite all the collection-thinning I've been doing of late.   

 

I'd easily put these in the same league as today's Lionel die-cast ES44 locomotives (prior generation Railsounds notwithstanding) -- without all the ridiculous price games that surround the latter units today.
