WAS AT A TRAIN SHOP TODAY AND SAW AN INTERESTING NON-POWERED ENGINE. IT WAS AN ATLAS GP 60 ALL SILVER WITH RES SANTA FE MARKINGS. VERY STRIKING. THE PRODUCT #IS 1211-1&2. THERE WAS A PAIR. DO ANY OF YOU ATLAS GUYS OR GIRLS, KNOW ABOUT THIS PRODUCT? HOW FAR BACK DOES IT GO, WHAT WAS ISSUE PRICE, ANY AROUND NOW, AND CURRENT VALUE, and does anyone have one for sale?

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

THANKS

Sounds like you stumbled upon something like this...

These were first offered by Atlas in the 2004/2005 timeframe.  Seems like just yesterday!!! And for that time represented the epitome of detail/quality in O-gauge 3-rail diesel locomotives.  Even by today's standards, they hold their own quite well in that regard... so much so that I still own a complete GP60M/GP60B/GP60B/GP60M set despite all the collection-thinning I've been doing of late.

I'd easily put these in the same league as today's Lionel die-cast ES44 locomotives (prior generation Railsounds notwithstanding) -- without all the ridiculous price games that surround the latter units today.
