Seems like Atlas O track isn't as much of a bargain as it used to be about 10 years ago... when I last purchased.
...
Now THAT is an understatement. I sold all but a few odds-and-ends pieces of my Atlas-O track a little over a year ago, when I decided to go with MTH ScaleTrax on my newly redesigned layout. And I was shocked at the price of new Atlas-O track as compared to the when I first purchased most of it about 8-10 years ago.
Folks got a great deal on the stuff I sold, and hopefully it's all being put to good use now.
I don't think Gargraves/Ross track components have seen the same steep price increases as the stuff coming over from China. But I know the Atlas-O stuff really shot up there. From what I can see MTH Scaletrax has also seen price increases over the years -- but not nearly to the extent as Atlas-O track. Had I not stumbled upon SideTrack Hobbies clearing out all of their ScaleTrax components at unbelievable prices, I was all set to go with Gargraves/Ross. Of course, watching Rich Battista's videos only served to seal the deal that MTH ScaleTrax would be the ultimate choice for my next O-Gauge layout.
Given what you're looking for in Atlas-O, I don't think you'll have any problem locating everything you need at a decent price. Check Charlie Ro... they always seem to have great stock on track components. For the best leverage, I'd source the track from ONE dealer who has everything you need in-stock NOW. And if you're in need of a brand new Atlas-O Single Truss bridge, that's one of the last items I still have available for sale from my original Atlas-O track inventory. ![;)](https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/static/images/graemlins/icon_wink.gif)
