Center O Gauge black shoe connector

I’ve got an intermittent electrical connection issue from a straight section of track leading into a 6070 054 switch piece. The connection problem point is the black center shoe. I can slide it with a screwdriver and get an electrical connection but it doesn’t permanently hold. I really really really don’t want to pull the straight track section and the 6070 switch apart as it is old (17 yrs) and I’m afraid some of those small wire (mouse hair size) underneath the switch will break. Do any of you have suggestions as how to clean that center shoe contact without pulling the tracks apart? Electrical contact spray?
