Stockyard Express is located in the heart of Nickel Plate Road Country and when MTH cataloged the famous NKP Alco PA's we set ourselves to the task of creating some extra coaches. In 1950 the Nickel Plate Road ordered 13 new sleepers from Pullman. Each was named for a city served by the road. We picked the cities of Lorain, Lima and Fort Wayne for our special run. Why those cities? Well Stockyard Express is located in Lorain County so Lorain was a must have. Lima and Fort Wayne we choose because of the connections to Nickel Plate Road 765 and the railroad industry as a whole.
