Got a new Sunset 3rd rail engine with a "Electric Railroad Constant Speed Control does not have enough power to pull the train it was intended to.

Was thinking of swapping some power into the Dummy that goes with it.

I have tried running a TMCC engine with Odyssey and the 2 engines are no where near close first one  is faster then the other.

Depending on where you set the speed and how fast you move the TMCC controller one or the other will be faster / slower.

When I hook them both up to the train if I move the speed control to fast on TMCC cab 1 the train will slow down as 1 engine spins its tires.

Looking for some way to power my dummy with matched pulling power for both engines.

Yeh it is not the board.

The problem is the 1 powered A unit does not have enough power, the passenger cars are pretty heavy and do not roll that well compared to other models but the detail is beyond anything else on the market!

Simply I need to power a B unit to help out the A unit.

I could just rip out the guts on the A unit and add a MTH DCS system in each A and B they match speeds no problem.

But I would prefer to figure out somehow to do a transplant into the B unit for the extra traction power of 2 engines.

But so far engines that I have tested can not get the speed to match up at all.

He's not blaming the ERR board, just telling us what it has so that we know what he's got to work with.

Like stated above, try turning Odyssey and if possible turn the cruse off in the ERR boards too (I don't have any yet so I don't know if that's possible.).  Or, is this one of the newer ERR boards with the nudge setting?

You might look at the gear ratios and wheel sizes of the two units. A grease pencil mark on the flywheel and on one driven wheel will allow you to determine the ratio, when you turn the flywheel by hand through one full revolution of the driven wheel.

If the driven wheels are the same size and the gear ratios are the same, you can equip both locos with the same control system and you are good to go.
