Recently I posted a problem with engine stopping on exit of back to back Atlas switches.  Momentum fixed the problem.  If the engine enters the switches at a high speed momentum carries it through without a hiccup.  Only when entered at a slow speed does it falter.  I know this is not a cure for the problem, but as long as it works, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Have you tried adding a power connection there?

Or grounding the other outer rail?

Some switches isolate one output outer rail to use in activating Anti-Delrail.

This can cause loss of ground in some engines.

It can also be the length between center rail pickups is making both land on unpowered spots at the same time. Let the engine stop there and slowly roll it sideways to see where the pickups are landing. Fix for this usually involves adding a pickup.

Just a few ideas.

I am not familiar with the Atlas switches but have you tried adding a small straight section about 2 inches or less in length between the two switches and supplying both outside rail and center rail power wires to the small track section?

I did this with 2 Gargraves switches that were back to back as Gargraves switches have only one metal outside rail and a plastic rail for the other outside rail on most of their switches.

I put a power drop in between the switches, as well as the curve section on both (train goes through curves as it stops).  I'm sure it's the pickup, otherwise momentum would not fix it.  I'm going to run it slowly through the curves and see where the pickup rollers are.  I'll also try a ground to the other outer rail.
