A buddy came by with a good 6 driver magnetraction chassis to cannibalise for my Adriatic.  I couldn't find all the bearings new, and using the wrong ones, though they fit, will wreck the magnetraction. The forward gear is loose on the new chassis and bearing and post look bad, the rear set is weak also, but the axles and bearings are great. My first ever train has been "worn out" again Long on its second wheelset, and this will be the 4th bearing swap. The gears and gear post on mine are fine, but the axle bearings are worn out enough to allow a skip tooth though. Just enough and I noticed the very first time that it jumped a tooth on the rear driver and began pulsing and stuttering on the rods &.gear binding lightly. So hopefully I can get something going on that soon.

His family sent a photo to him of them at a Cedar Point Amusement Park holloween diplay of giant pumkins and he sent them back a picture of my hallowen loco front end. So we ran the trains some, but not long. I was fighting to stay awake and he had to play cook at home.

I also stopped at the dollar store for tortillas and ketchup, and while there saw the holloween displays have tripled in size. I guess I just started searching for a plastic skull, ghost, monster, or pumkin head for a boiler front just a bit too soon. There were pumpkin solar lamps, glow in the dark skeletons. I'll run back and measure them tomorrow; I like this, even with the poorly done skull, it's grown on me, but it only has me wanting a 3d version more.

Got a little more done on the engine yard yesterday in between some work for the CEO.

I picked up a diesel sand tower from a Lionel 415 set and painted the stand silver (nothing against the Lionel orange but I thought the silver looks better).

I made a base out of plaster that will get cleaned up to look like concrete and made a hose from some fish tank air hose dipped in black paint.

Maybe I can get it on the layout later today.

Cleaned out a corner. Found rolling stock that I bought 25 years ago or longer I never used. Plus a couple of older ZW's I quit using when MTH came out with the Z4000. Also decided to try to sell my Atlas turntable. Bought that thinking I had a good area for it but found out I did not have enough room for anything else. More then likely what I take there tomorrow will come back home with me and go back in the corner again.................Paul

Hey Paul, just wondering how your selling went!

MIKE G, this was my first train show in well over25 years. In fact the one box of trains I took was still in the box from that show. I sold a couple of things. One of the ZW's I took and I had a bunch of HO trains that were my fathers and they had been sitting around for a very long time. But I brought back most of what I took. Comes down to what I may have bought that I liked  is not what people may be looking for at this show. I am going to try one more show at the end of October and then go from there. Today I glued up my buildings on the upper level. After I did that I decided to cut out the corner of the window frame to add an extra building. Tomorrow I'll paint that section blue and where the building overhangs the street  I am going to add a small extension of road and move the cable wire. I have to measure to see how much sidewalk I will need and order that along with the flexible stone walls from Scenic Express to finish off the top section. Also still have to see where I can get a mirror small enough to go in between the two sets of buildings to add some distance to the  street. Pics.....Paul

Ted, great work crew there! Don't to forget to give them breaks and lunch! LOL

Not sure I’m completely happy with the crew assigned to my job.  Most are just standing around and one actually is sitting on a bucket breaking out lunch.

LOL I see the problem Ted. You have 2 supervisors in the white hats and 4 workers in yellow hats! As long as you have 2 white hats on the same job all they are going to do is shoot the sh**! Nothing gets done then.

Got the buildings glued and cut up some wood to make a small extension to the road to accommodate the third building. I'll let the glue dry overnight. Tomorrow I'll cut a piece of brick paper to finish the road on the extension. It's funny how when you look at something it does not appear to be long but after measuring for sidewalks I can't believe how many inches I'll need. Pics.............Paul

Paul, Now those are some hefty C-clamps!  Looking good!

Ted, Now those deadbeats better get to work!  The light is on them!

Your right Mark those are some bug clamps! But if you look closer they have to be, Paul already broke off half of the handle on the top of the one near the front! LOL

Ted, You still have the same problem just because its dark you still have 2 white hats! LOL
