@trumpettrain Patrick great photo of the waiting area, I am glad the trains are still on time. But I do have to say that is going to be one heck of a job keeping the platforms clean!
FOR TODAY: Wednesday morning down at the yard - The town garbage truck, a 1953 Chevrolet, is about to depart its' overnight parking spot. Car knockers, Punky Niezley and Tatter Crocket are at the ready to inspect a string of cars the A5 switch crew will soon ease by them at 2 mph ... just another day on the railroad.
The A5 switcher, shown in the above photo, has been busy all morning assembling these two trains. Soon their locomotives will arrive, couple on , pump up the brakes, and head west ... one 30 minutes ahead of the other ... it's going to be a good day on the railroad!
I little activity near the road out of Paradise. Happy Hump Day!!
FOR TODAY: " Oh no! More snow!" MOW Superintendent Big Jim Slim exclaims. " Golly gee those plows been workin 72 hours straight already. Flapjack Critchet replies, "I'm glad we have enough provisions because it looks like we're about to be stuck out here in this caboose in the middle of nowhere for the entire weekend!" Reds Farkle chimes in " I sure hope we don't have chile again for supper!" "I know whatcha mean Reds. That last batch was some high powered stuff!! Whew!!!" Ricky Scruggs enters the conversation while shaking his head back and forth and holding his nose. " The night before last was a rough one to endure for sure! In the middle of the night onest we's all aslleepin o'l Brewster Stevens got up and opened the dang window to let some fresh air in. Like to froze my keaster off! Who ever heard of such a dang thing .. opening a window when it's 13 degrees outside!"
This flanger is seeing some action for sure! Directly behind the flanger, the headlight of the steam locomotive is barely visible. The deer are hunting for food.
This lone black bear may be on the verge of getting covered up with snow as the flanger digs in.
Oh no! More snow is right, Pat! Iβm glad Patsburg RR has some good men and equipment! Whoβs job was it to store in the food????

Hmmm, better not open the door to the stove, or light a match, otherwise might only be a set of trucks left on the tracks!!!π₯π₯π₯π₯Boom

Thank you so very much Arnold for your kind words about this photo and my later snow photo. Much appreciated!
I love the D&H livery and especially as it is applied to their PAs. Even though the D&H is not part of the 8 railroads I model, I had to purchase an ABA set ( Williams ) when they showed up brand new on the Bay because I LOVE the way these locomotives look. A real cool thing is, both A units are powered!

Sheep heading for ramp for cattle car
FOR TODAY: These photos were taken this past August, just as the plow equipment arrived on the rip track from the paint shop. Maintenance crews spent an ample amount of time repairing and " tuning up " both the rotary and the Jordan spreader. Their diligent and hard work is paying off today as the snow is giving these machines a good workout up on the Mountain Division. Here we see Tusk Larkins, Jim Bobby Souder, and Clem Coogel checking out the spreader's wing. It always pays off to prepare well!
The forklift operator (certified) is about to unload a straight load of 6' x 8' creosote treated railroad ties for the "tie replacement project" soon to begin...
