Happy FEF. CP's Train G13 Northern Maine Junction to Searsport switching some cars before continuing on towards Searsport. The locomotives are EMD GP20C ECO's #2257, #2280 and #2262.

Those youngsters are kids of one of my wife's work colleagues.  They are into trains big time. Interestingly enough, neither group of us were aware that we would both be in Folkston at the same time, so it was a humorous meet up.

Regarding the camera, it's a basic Nikon D3300 DSLR. A few of the videos were also done with my cell phone camera.

The trip exceeded expectations many times over and thousands of pictures were collected. A special thanks goes to Joey and Gary who had gone to great lengths and arranged many nice surprises for us. For example, on the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Museum Railway, we had our own ex-Maine Central caboose on the train. Joey also acted as our guide for three days. The model railway hobby can lead to everything. Pictured from left to right Johan, Joey, Hannu & Gary.

That's a terrific picture of your group.  The Belfast & Moosehead RR is the oldest continuous operating RR in the U.S.A. They have a great museum and online information.  I have had the opportunity to enjoy the tour and visit there each year when we attend the Common Ground Country Fair in Unity Maine.  Belfast is also a great small coastal city to visit.

The Belfast and Moosehead was featured briefly on a recent episode of Maine Cabin Masters on Magnolia Network. The crew took the train up to a camp site (which also had a bay window caboose on the property),  in the opening scene of the show. I believe the same GEEP was pulling the train.

@Wood, here is a shot of my modified MTH 4-6-0 I purchased from an auction web site a few years ago.  The Disney World trains were so impressive when visiting the park - great photos! Unfortunately they weren’t running the last two times we visited, and I’m not sure if they are running again or not.  Hopefully your photo is recent and they are running again.

Rob, That is a beautiful locomotive.  My last visit was around 7 or 8 years ago.  The 5:30 am visit to the Engine house was the top event for me. They also had all the monorails working out of this location. Pretty impressive shop.

Good morning on this Front End Friday.

Front photos from my trip - last week Friday actually - to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum (TVRM) in Chattanooga.

First, by the entrance there is a Hartford & Slocumb Railroad #913 ALCO RS-1

Next is a TVRM #8669 RSD-1

Then, a Gallatin Fossil Plant #3060 Fairbanks-Morse FM H-16-66 "Baby Train Master"

Then, a Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis #710 EMD GP7 that powered the tour train

As the tour train reached the end of the line we passed this Southern Railway #4501 Baldwin Mikado getting fired up for work on Saturday (the TVRM uses the steamers to run the tours on the weekends).  Apologies for the glare and resolution as these were screenshots of the video taken through the window of the coach I was riding in.

Now, the tour of the back shops commences, first is the Central of Georgia Railway #109 ALCO RS-3

Then a TVRM #606 EMD SW1200

Then a TVRM #1824 EMD GP-7L

These two in the shade, a Southern Railway #6914 EMD E8 and an US Army #610 Baldwin 2-8-2

Inside the shops, one of the two steamers used for tours is being worked on, the Southern Railway #630 ALCO 2-8-0.  It was amazing seeing the guts all open.

There a couple other locomotives that I didn't get to take photos of.  This was an active railroad yard, of course, and guests weren't supposed to wander off.

On the train ride back to the station, I sat on the other side of the train and caught these 4 front ends coupled on a siding (screenshot stills of my video).  A TVRM #7100 ALCO S-2, formerly of the US Army

Two TVRM EMD F7's, #578 and #576

And a Southern Railway #3170 EMD SD40

Last but not least, back out in the TVRM parking lot, I took pictures of this Canadian National Railway #5288 Montreal Locomotive Works 4-6-2
