I'm overwhelmed, flabbergasted! This has become Diesel Mania!

I will comment later about the most recent replies showing mountains of diesels.

John a/k/a Jay Jay has a photo of a Burlington Northern in this thread that inspired me to make the video below. There is something about the beautiful green color of the Burlington Northern Diesel; it's kind of like British racing car green; very appealing and attractive.

Mine in the video below is an MTH Proto 1, and one of my few Premier models, pulling postwar coal and log dump cars:

Arnold Caribari, what a way to begin the Year 2018: Go Diesels! This is a great thread and many folks have fun pictures to enjoy...Wow! 79D2E842-C15A-4A3F-9DCA-D9FBCABD4245E1CA0719-1814-459A-8BB9-B958A10F2B063A0DB4E5-34E8-43EC-B9F3-DD144A7F24AB6D11B4B5-6909-4EBE-92E1-8F9568CCFF49

Larry, thanks for the compliment. I thought of the title of this thread last night around 10 PM. It seemed like the logical thing to post, after Steam Engine Saturday, Smokin Sunday, etc. I almost posted it last night at 10 PM,  but decided to hold off till this morning until it was indeed New Years Day. I was thrilled that no one else thought of it and I got this post going.

I will do this post every New Years Day for the rest of my life if you guys would like that!

Today is the coldest day this winter in the NY metro area. We need our trains to haul massive quantities of oil as quickly and economically as possible to heat all of our homes. The video below shows an MTH Proto 3 CSX Diesel pulling a long train of oil tanker cars. Turn the volume up and listen to the realistic diesel sounds as this engine runs with prototypically slow, smooth power:

Here’s my new Lionel LEGACY Conrail SD40 from Black Friday heading the CB&Q USRA hoppers my parents got me for Christmas. Absolutely flawless runner and amazing sounds. It’s 7 degrees Fahrenheit out here, so I’m staying inside celebrating 2018 to play trains.

That'd would look really good with Cody B's SD80M he got at the fair, I'd suggest bringing it to the Jan. Show or Greenberg, lovely engine!
